Hi all, just noticed my front interior light is not working. I believe I need to replace the bulb. Does anyone now how to remove the lense cover in order to get to the bulb. There are two lights together in one unit situated on the ceiling above the rear view mirror,. The smaller light which illuminates the front passenger side is working,its the larger one thats packed in. My galaxy is a 2002 mark 2 v6. thanks

My attempt to wire in ipod to car as per sanjsanj method! Been up to halfords bought the 3.5mm lead with red and white jack leads on other end and some metal clips to pull headunit out. Unfortunately the back of my stereo doesnt look like yours (sanjsanj) . Mine has lots of cables going in but there arent any red and white "jack" type connections. My car is a gal v6 ghia 2002. The stereo is a factory fit 5000 model with original cd multichanger in rear side compartment. Question is is there a way round this? . I could provide pictures of stereo if that would help. Why have i only made 3 posts in 3 years? Probably because ive not had any problems with car (touch wood) I do frequently view what other people have posted and search old posts if i want views on tyres for example , as I bought two tyres the other week. Also im quite busy with 3 young kids to run around so dont have much time

the option of using a cassette adapter is i think a non starter due to poor sound quality(ive heard). Itrip or similar radio frequncy gadjet sounds good but it worries me that yuo are reliant on a good signal. For example if listening to radio on a long journey signal becomes weak as you travel through different counties consequently you have to search for stronger signal. would you have to retune ipod to headset in similar way ? Does itrip provide continuos good sound quality davetheref? I believe there only about

Ive Just bought an ipod and would like to use it throgh the cars (2002 v6 ghia) stereo system (with 6cd changer in rear). Ive started to gather info regards this and found quite a few options out there and conflicting views on whats suitable. Can get quite confusing with lots of pros and cons to consider before taking the plunge.Wondered if anyone been through this process or got any interesting tips/views.

Just got back from my local ford dealership, seem to spend more time there than at home . After taking my gal 16k oct 2002 v6 out of there last week after yet another breakdown. The latest one is the front wipers work fine on full speed but the normal and intermittent will not work. Also when pulling the stalk towards you The wash works but again the wipers dont follow to clear the screen. The rear wash and wipers seem fine. I have looked at all the related postings on this topic but cant find one which addresses my paticular problem. Fords conclusion this morning is I need a new motor . Does this seam sensible to all you tecnical whizzs baring in mind they work fine at full speed? . The only saving grace is that this and all the previous work that has been done, has been covered by the warranty. Overall Im getting dishartened with this car. Things are waring out and breaking down at an incresingly regular and alarming rate for a two year old car. When the warranty runs out next year ill be on tender hooks. Does this happen to bmw /merc owners , is the galaxy a poorly made car built using cheap parts? Oh and after all that happy new year everyone !

thanks everyone. the baby will have to go in the back. apparently some cars have a switch that turns just the passenger air bag off .I believe the peugot 106 or 206 has this facility. With soon to have three kids, and only a lap belt in the middle seat the eldest will have to start sitting in the third row. Anyone heard of a child car seat that works on a lap belt or has anyone managed to convert from a lap belt to a diagnal belt? This would enable all three kids to be in second row thus allowing for prams etc to go in back.

does anyone know whether the front passenger air bag can be turned off? i have a gal 2.8 ghia first registered oct 2002 (two years old). We would like to carry our new born baby in this seat, however this is not recomended when a car has an active passenger air bar.thanks

the Electronic Stability Program warning light has recently become constantly illuminated on my 2002 2.8 v6 10,000k galaxy. The manual says the system has malfunctioned and to consult a ford dealer. Prior to doing this, I wondered if anyone else has had this problem? Any idea what cause could be? what cost implications might be ? Any info would be appreciated as a visit to my ford dealer is probable and iwouldnt want to appear nieve and get stitched up.

In the last couple of days the ESP warning light stays illuminated whilst driving my 2002 v6 ghia 10.000miles. The manual says a malfunction has occured on the traction control system/electronic stability program and to see ford dealer. I wondered if anyone has had any experience with this problem.? Does anyone have any idea what the possible cause could be? Any idea on cost to rectify? Is it dangerous in present situation to keep using it? Could I do some checks/fault finding myself? Any information would be gratefull as I have a feeling I will be visiting my local ford dealer and wouldnt like to appear naive and get ripped off.

Anyone know where I can get a drivers site mat for my recently bought 8 month old v6 (interior in beige). All the other mats are there but realized after buying and taking the car home that one is missing.

recently bought an eight month old v6. Everything appears to be working well appart from one minor thing. The anologue clock on the dash is fixed at ten to ten and hasnt moved. Tried pressing the small knob in as manual says but nothiing. Anyone got any ideas. I suppose I could take it to my local ford dealer as its still under warranty, but thought Id try the real experts first. thanks

Has anyone got any personnal experience/advice on the following- Does the aircon (climate on ghia models) keep the back passengers cool enough in hot weather. Is it essential that you have the dual aircon. Or is there not much in it. The reason im asking is because im looking to buy a one/two year old galaxy soon and i believe the petrol 2.8 is the only model that has the dual air con as standard. We will be doing a lot of driving with our young kids during the summer in southern europe. This will help us to choose the right galaxy. Also does the mpg drop dramatically with air con activated, especially with the thirstier petrol2.8.
