My bonnet release cable snapped soon after getting my P reg Galaxy. With a MOT due I needed to get another bonnet as the mechanic couldn't get the old one lifted. As the mechanic saw there was a spare, he was able to 'go' at it. Turns out he was able to open it, with the words 'never again' as he explained it to me.
