  1. Have a MKIII 1.8 diesel and was wondering is anyone is running thiers on biofuel? The owners guide suggests that a 5% mix is as far as you can go with this which is what tescos sell anyway, I think. Seems to be more of a generic "we can't be bothererd" statement rather than there being specific reasons.

With the increasing fuel & tax costs biodiesel is looking more attractive evrey day. In fact if you belive the blurb it is better for you motor anyway. I know that I'd have to change the fuel filter after switch over but wondered if there were specific reasons that a 1.8 would not run with it?

Hi there ive ran my 98 s reg galaxy on 100% bio with no probs and now i have a seat alhambra 2001 model x reg and i run that on 100% bio and have been for the last 3 months not sure what year yours is so make your own mind up on that one but at 35-40 pence a litre on home brew its a big saving.

  2. Do you know how many pipes control the turbo? is it only one and is it difficult to get to? Had a quick look and the turbo seems to be down the back of the engine, is it easier to get to from underneath? If there was a split in the pipe which controls the turbo wouldn't I still be getting a hard brake pedal? I have noticed that alot of people who have power loss seem to be able to turn the engine off and back on and the problem seems to clear, this is not the case on mine also I never have any engine managment lights showing on the dash. Read somewhere that something which controls the turbo vains could be stuck or the vains themselves could be stuck. So many questions so little time!! Once again any thoughts would be appreciated.

There are lots of small bore pipes - you may have restored the main vacuum, but may be suffering losses in the control system. Basically start at the turbo actuator and work your way back - there are joints galore.

Could be sticky turbo actuator too...

Hi there i bought a t reg galaxy a couple of months ago and it had no turbo working at all.

Tried all kinds to see what the prob was in the end i found one of the plugs was not pluged in properly, not sure which one i just went over all the plugs and pushed them all in and its worked ever since.

    Nice to have some power.
