I just bought a new replacement off ebay, less than 10 mins to fit ( 2 X Bolts) .Don't waste your money at ford M8.

Hope you can get away with the cam ,my tappets had been badly worn by the cam. I guessed it was down to non PD oil being used or oil being used for too long. Let us know what you find ! ! !

When I had a booming noise that seemed to blow back throught the air box on my 115 51 plate tdi with 132 k miles it turned out to be wear on the cam lobes. There was no smoke and it started just fine but just sounded like a tractor also. I had to have a new cam , cam shells, tappets, cam belt, water pump, air mass sensor as the back flow of air knacked the old one. Price inc a oil change at a VW specialist in Lincoln

Mine also does this and as the A/C seems to have a large leak somewhere ? I have decided that I can live with speeds 3 and 4 on the fan. Am I right in thinking using it as such can't hurt anything ?

Just to follow up on this, I have a flanged witter which doesn't affect the parking sensers on my 52 plate mk2.
