  1. Andy brilliant how to, esp with the later additions about the wiring clip/vac pipe stub. The thing that springs to mind is that having seen inside now, the only reason to do this from a vacuum, loss of power, limp mode, vac pipe perspective, is if the vacuum pipe from the map is not holding vac. There is a direct connection from the engine bay map pipe, to the ecu internal pipe. Therefore if you pump it out with a mini vac, and it holds vac, this little pipe inside is also ok. So still got my limp mode going on, but interesting bit of fact finding.
  2. Hi all just thought I would share my experience with this issue My gal started to smell of diesel, which I found was coming from the aux heater. I replaced the glow plug, which is detailed elsewhere in this forum. When I restarted the car, after a few minutes the heater fired up and started to plume grey smoke. Research seemed to suggest the dosing pump may be at fault, but this hadn't happened prior to the glow plug replacement. What I surmised was that there had been a build up of unburned diesel from when the unit was trying to fire but couldn't because if the failed glow plug. I simply let it run on the drive and low and behold the smoking eventually stopped and the unit now burns clean. This took about three morning cold start to happen so don't expect instant results. The neighbours weren't too impressed though. So before you rush to Frauds with your smoke, give it a moment or three to burn itself off.

  5. Hi Its a galaxy 1.9 tdi zetec automatic, t reg 1999. Many thanks Chris
  6. Has any one experienced this issue. For years my heater fuse; no34, 25amp has blown when the aircon is in use. I have carried out some diagnostics and found that the current in the heater fuse circuit surges dramatically when the engine is hot, there is a high ambient temp and the car is accelerated up hill. I have messed about with the full throttle relays in the belief that one of them was faulty, but having swapped it with the horn relay, this did not cure the problem. HELP ME PLEASE.
