Parking Sensor - Front Offside Corner
sainot replied to smudge2002's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Yes, there is a much easier way. You don't nee to remove the bumber. Simply remove the number plate then pop off the trim that runs along the middle of the bumber. The trim from each side meets in the middle behind the number plate. Gently prize off the trim and this will give you access to remove the sensors. Try swapping the faulty sensor with a good one to see if it starts clicking. If it does it will be a faulty sensor. If not, then it's the wiring. Be careful when you remove the sensors not to damage the wiring by trying to prise them off. There are some tricky clips on the edge that require a fine screwdriver to release the catch. If you don't loosen the catch you risk pulling the wires from the plug and making matters worse. Familiarise your self with how they come on and off by getting under the back of the galaxy and looking at the rear sensors and how they unclip. Good luck. -

That looks like an MKI Galaxy in those instructions. I don;t have any bolts behind the number plate on my MK II. -
Software Causing Power Steering Problem
sainot replied to Johnny B Goode's topic in MKIII Technical section
just for info, my brother bought an S-Max about a year ago and it's been in five times (Ford Leeds) with power steering failure. Apparently the pump keeps failing. He reckons they are leaving air in the system each time they change the pump (consequetly leaving it to run dry). -
I need to replace a parking sensor on my MKII front bumper and the only way to do it is remove the front bumper. I had a look at the weekend but not sure where to start. I saw some screws in the wheels arches and some plastic plugs holding it on underneath but apart from that not much else. I've seen some instructions on another post on this site but they are for a MKI. Any help pleeeaaassssseeee.

Hi, I've discovered my front cigar lighter is not working on my 52 plate Galaxy. I'm presuming it's the fuse but where is it. Had a look through the manual but could not identify it. Any help appreciated.

Hi, recently been on a long journey in my 52 Galaxy 1.9tdi and noticed it judders quite a bit when you brake at 40PMH or over. Any ideas what is causing this. Wheel balancing, or warped discs maybe

Smitch, as a police highway patrol officer, do you come accross many spare wheels that have come off vehicles on the motorway. Any stories appreciated. -

There are some crash test videos on you tube if anyone is interested. Just type in 'Galaxy Crash Test' in the search engine on YouTube. I note from the Thatcham report in the post above the S-MAx is the only car with a 'Good' ratring for the rear end bumper. -
Spare Wheel Carrier Repairs

Hi marcostig, tell us more about your long bolt arrangement. I leaning towards an alternative solution as I don;t like the replacement cable option. One becuase it could happen again and two because i feel it is unsafe. -

How To Change A Pollen Filter
sainot replied to seatkid's topic in Ford Galaxy Technical Section MK I MK II
Many thanks for this post, I did it, it wasn't easy, but i did it. Great instructions. Also worth clearing out all the leaves whilst every thing is out. I found loads which were blocking the drains and stopping water draining away which was causing my front windscreen to mist up all the time. -
Does anyone know if this item on ebay will work on my 2002 1.9 Tdi Guia Galaxy: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=260445670614 Workable Model This diagnostic cable is usable for ISO9141 and KWP2000 transmission protocol like used for example by:

A couple of my alloy wheels are scuffed and showing signs of corrosion under the laquer. Has anyone got any suggestions on getting them refurbed. I'm considering getting Chips Away to sort them out or even having them shot blast and re-finished. Has anyone ever had this done / is the finish as good as the manfacturers. Here is one of the companies I'm considering: http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk

I'm really suprised at how flimsly the spare wheel is attached to these cars. The first thing I thought was what would happen if it dropped off on the motorway and bounces up and through someones windscreen. Very bad design if you ask me. I'm suprised they wern;t all recalled an fitted with a different mechanism.
