A couple of months ago, I had the following problem. When on cruise control, the cruise control would switch itself off with a big judder as if I'd just gone over a big pot hole. It happened a few times and I managed to recreate it but not with the same conditions. I did notice that the rev counter briefly zeroed and then came back to indicate the right revs, it felt like the engine had turned off and then back on. A couple of weeks ago, my wife noticed that the stablising warning light came on (the button is by the parking sensor switch, I forget what it's called now), the rev counter was at zero but no loss of power. Of course, when it was tested in the garage, there was nothing found. Any ideas? Dave

I've hired them from Roofbox. I had some problems with the threads on the nuts/spacers burring. However, they promptly sent me some more to arrive the next day. So not used them yet but it has taken me about 4 hours messing around to get them right. Now, it would take me less than an hour given a new set, but the burring is a bit of a concern. The fitting of the chains once all the setup is done, is very quick and easy though. My tip - Engage brain and remember to take the cap off the alloys to get to the real bolts underneath, boy did I feel stupid when I gave the plate a tug :-)

Hi, I just got asked whether my W Reg Galaxy had the new or old shape...how do I tell? I do remember that around that time the shape did change but how? many thanks dave

Hi, I'm wondering whether anyone has since used snow chains on tyres this size (215 55R16). I need to buy some pretty soon for my Galaxy and as someone else said, getting 4 new tyres just ain't practical! So, if anyone has used them, I'd be glad to find out your views on how it went.
