  1. Many thanks for your help I will be very interested to find out. Thanks again
  2. Hi what I'm trying to work out is if my car has a problem. If there's another owner out there with a 115bhp tdi would they be able to note what revs you are doing at 30mph on a flat road and in 4th gear. I've had it thru my local garage and the diagnostics come back with no faults, thet have also checked my boost pressure and it's ok, they have checked the turbo vaines and they are ok. It's had a new exhust system last year with a new cat. It's had a new turbo in Jan and I've just had the timing belt done last week. My garage say's that the car is labouring in 4th at 30mph but I feel that it should be able to drive in that gear at that speed and accelerate on a flat road. When the car reaches 1800rpm and the turbo kicks in it fly's it's just at low revs I feel it struggles. Any ides??????????????????????
  3. Mine's an auto and it gets to 4th gear quite nicely, hits fifth if I maintain the speed. Fuel consumption dictates I drive very sedately, but I feel my car changes gears in a most timely fashion. I haven't had it out on the motorway yet, but this is all school run stuff. Sorry I should have mentioned that it's a manual. But thanks very much for taking the time to reply
  4. Hi, I'v recently bought a 115bhp tdi after owning a 2.3 petrol. The question is can I expect to have my car in 4th gear when driving around town at 30. The car feels very laboured in this gear and is only doing around 1200 - 1400rpm which is well under revs before the turbo kicks in. I feel it only wants to get into 3rd gear up to 30 to 35 mph. I know its a 2 ton car with only a 1.9 engine in it before the turbo comes in, am I expecting too much from it? I'd be really interested to know what your thoughts are on this?
  5. Its sounding like air ingress into the system, mine had it last week, I couldnt get any power between 1000rpm and 2k until turbo kicked in and then would shoot away. I would have a look at the fuel lines, or get a bit of clear pipe and run it between filter and pump so that you can see if any airbubbles getting in. Get yourself a Vagcom lead and check for any errors on your ECU, mine started kicking out a valve pump error, been bugging me for ages. I found it to be a small pin hole in the line between the filter and pump as the hot pipe above it melted into it. Hope that helps Rob Many thanks for your advice
  6. Many thanks for your advice will have a look
  7. Hi can anyone recommend how I go about getting a replacement key it's for a mk 2 galaxy I'm not bothered about it being remote but it will have to have a transponder in it? Obviously I don't want to go thru Fords. Many thanks.
  8. hi, did you sort your problem out as it sounds similar to the problem i've had i would be very interested to find out.
  9. Many thanks I had the turbo vanes checked last week, and was ok, I've been advised that it could be the cam belt timing not quite rite does this ring a bell to anyone?
  10. Hi I'm hoping someone out there can help me. I've got a 02 tdi 115bhp when I accelertate the car is very hesitant until I get to the point where the turbo kicks in then it will push you back in my seat. It feels very frustating to drive not at all very smooth. It feels very flat I should be able to cruise around in 4th doing 30 mph but it won't drive in that gear at that speed. Any one experienced the same problems or any idea what it could be?
  11. Hi there brand new to the site. Can anyone tell me where I can buy a Galaxy Mk2 handbook apart from ebay. Or does anyone out there have one for sale that I would gladly buy. Many thanks Justin
