  1. Thanks for your reply Matt, I've sorted it out at last. As I could not find any incoming power I checked the loom in the rear jack storage compartment and there was power. Next I removed the rubber cable cover from the car body and the tailgate, guess what? one broken wire and two more almost broken. I've just bypassed the broken wires with new and it all works  Saved me an expensive trip to the dealers. Mike.
  2. Your help still needed please. Have stripped off the rear panel and unbolted the lock from the tailgate, its hanging at moment! There are three connectors, two are similar size but one red and one black. The other is oval connector. I can,t find any power at any of the wires in the connctors. Should there be power somewhere if so which wire or connector. I am using a 12v screwdriver with earth clamp and it have tested to check it works. Have looked at fuse panel in footwell but none seem to relate to the boot lock any ideas. Any help appreciated
  3. Thanks for your reply guys, car is 3 1/2 years old so out of warranty, have to check for loose wire. I'll post any results. Thanks, Mike
  4. Hi all, I have an 02 Galaxy and recently found I can't open the tailgate by just using the handle alone, I now have to use the key every time. I read on an earlier post that disconnecting the battery should correct this, If I do this is it only the radio code that will be required after reconnecting. Everything else seems to work fine. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. The manual does not say anything about rain sensors. The actual control arm for the wiper has a further control on top to adjust wipe time, but in the manual it states to turn wiper on one wipe then off then on at desired time to set intermittant. This should reset after restarting engine. Presumably it is this switch?
  6. Sure is, it cant be the only Galaxy doing this. Can anyone help?
  7. Hi all, I have an 02 galaxy and when i use the wipers in intermittant mode they work ok for a while then seem to change to constant wiping without me touching them. There is no definate pattern to this, just when it feels like it! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the quick reply Matt, Off to the dealers then.
  9. Hi all, After washing the galaxy the other day noticed the rear badge is starting to look tatty so this thread came along at the right time for me. Can you tell me how much they are. Thanks.
  10. To tow away, drain and add
  11. Hi Andrew T, I agree the nozzle does not fit in tank as ive been and checked. I still dispute there was diesel in tank. The car ran perfectly prior to becoming a non starter, no smoke or anything! I've also been told driving a petrol engine with diesel in tank would cause serious engine damage, is this correct? I'm sure i've been ripped off for what was probably a minor fault. Also i've been back to petrol station and spoke to staff, it is a busy garage and no-one else seems to have been affected!. Thanks for your interest. Mike.
  12. Galaxi 2.3 petrol. Had a non starter yesterday, called out breakdown whom eventually decided there was deisel in petrol tank!. It had to be towed away as it could not be drained at my property. Anyway it came back in working order but the fuel gauge now appears to be stuck at half way point which was the reading prior to drainage, what could the cause of this be as the mechanic did not know? and how do I fix it. The mechanic only advice was to fill the tank and it would probably release it. Also I have some of the fuel out of the tank before drain off, is there a way to tell if diesel is mixed with petrol? I,m not wholly satisfied that there was deisel in the tank as i'm normally quite careful. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike.
