i get it now - the sat nav is not 1.5din is it? i didn't realise that - I bet i'll need a cage for it too as it doesn't come with one. do ford stock the centre console inserts??

so why would it need a new faceplate when most Galaxy's came we these cd units anyway - the sat nav is 1.5din, the 6006 is also 1.5 din? i dont get it??

Just to clarify because I've done this several times. The 6006 is indeed 1.5 din and you will need a new insert - the switches will fit however without any issues. The nav is a VW design and hence why ford won't know how to remove it - (though its not hard). Its wired to the cluster though so you will loose that for certain. Why would you want to remove it? Thanks - some of the buttons are broken on the sat nav unit.

Hi. Would appreciate some assistance with this if possible: I have an 02 galaxy ghia with this head unit: http://www.blaupunkt.com/de/images_produkt/7612001040_15869_LO.JPG It's a blaupunkt radio navigation system with CD changer control - I also have a CD changer in the boot which is connected to the head unit using the radio frequency method (not keen on this plus some of the buttons on the head unit dont work). I want to take the whole system out and replace with the Ford 6006 - i know most of these dont have the squared of rim but thats fine. Basically i need to know how to extract the head unit and what tools I need to carry this out (Fraud tried when they were doing something else on the car but had no joy), also will the 6006 need new wiring or a new cage or will it slot straight in? also will it still be linked to the display on the dash next to the speedometer which displays what radio station your using or will I lose this function?? Hi. Picked up a 2002 Galaxy td ghia last week - private sale - wish i'd found this website b4 I bought the car!! I have the dualzone climate control and it flashes for 15 seconds when i turn the ignition on. Also the auto button doesn't do anything, is this because its flashing and needs gassing?? I cant get any cold air so would like to sort it out. Ford dealer said
