I bought it from Halfords who confirmed that they would not be able to fit it. They have kindly refunded the money. I have also spoken to my Ford dealer who confirmed that it is an official Ford accessory for the Galaxy. They could not explain why it did not fit the standard Galaxy roof bars. I have now ordered from them the alternative roof mounted bike carrier made by Barracuda. Will they fit? I'm not holding my breath..... Success. The Barracuda bars did fit. This was done by using their C track fittings. The Galaxy roof bars have a concealed track on the top into which these slot.

I have just bought a Thule 591 roof mounted cycle carrier only to find that the fittings are too small for the Galaxy roof bars. Does anyone have any suggestions of roof mounted alternatives to the Thule or how to get them them fit? Thanks.
