  1. Another thing is to check the aux water pump is running , you should hear it running for a couple of mins after the engine is turned off. Its located behind the engine on the bulkhead
  2. prob worth doing a vagcom scan to see what error codes you have , obd2 leads avaiable on fleabay for a couple pound , download the software , free version from "rosstech" website and a laptop running windows xp or win 7
  3. the map sensor is to the right hand side of the engine in a plastic pipe, if you can swap with your mate then just change the whole pipe only a couple of jubilee clips and the elec plug on the sensor. If you do a google search you will see what i mean
  4. unplug the maf ,if it runs the same then the maf should be ok . Mine was doing the same no pulling power , thought it might have been the turbo, but it turned out to be the map (not maf) sensor
  5. Have you tried the MAP (mass air pressure ) sensor ? I had a problem with under boost and it turned out to be the MAP not the MAF
  6. You def need to get a vagcom scan done before you start throwing money buying things u dont need. I had a power loss issue on my Alhambra 1.9 tdi, thought it was the turbo but after scanning turned out to be the MAP not MAF sensor,
  7. I have a mk1 ghia with interior blue parked @ my sisters that i could get the lid off. I take it its just the top lid you need?
  8. Had the same prob with my Alhambra 1.9 TDI changed both driveshafts wobble not come back
  9. why do you need a new MAF? whats the symtoms with your car ?
  10. you will prob have to get a vagcom scan done to see if there is any error codes with regards to global opening/closing
  11. I konw on my Mk2 when my lever used to go right up with no handbrake , i got a large spanner (22mm i think) and moved the arms on the rear calipers (where the hand brake cable is ) up and down , whilst appling some spray grease to the arm area, The adjustment is where the 2 rear cables join the main cable from the hand brake handle, have a look under the car and you will see what i mean
  12. I had a similar prob recently with my 99 2.8 V6, I took it too a mechanic friend who changed the plugs, leads nad a vavacuum hose. He also cleared 7 fault codes from the ecu, car runs a dream now
  13. I have similar prob with my 99 2.8 v6 it cuts out a junctions do you think the crank sensor could be going on mine also ?
  14. HI all After reading thro numerous topics i cant find the link for the web site that sells maf sensors , I have seen for for my '99 2.8 v6 ghia on Ebay for
  15. nope! it wont, VR6's dont have an ISV! it's all done by magic  check for air leaks on the inlet trunking, try cleaning the throttle body and check the condition purge valve and its hoses from the head near the air filter! Ok thanks will have a look shortly
