Thanks for the update,I've spoken to the garage today and they say it's common for the iron filings from the dmf breaking up to get into the starter motor causing issues so looks like I will have to get the DMF changed.

I have just started having a problem with my MK3 2.0 TDI Galaxy.Sometimes I turn the key and it will not start.All lights come on but it doesn't even attempt to turn over but if I bump start the car it fires up no problem. It will then start a few times and do it again. I have also noticed a slight knock and vibration so looks like I could be suffering from a DMF on its way out.Can this cause starting issues ? any advice appreciated

I currently have a very smelly and wet car! Since all the heavy rain I appear to have an annoying problem but can't seem to find out were it is coming from. The drivers side footwell is completly soaked and once i dried it out another dose of rain and its wet again. I have pulled up all the carpet and soaked up the water.It appears to be coming down near the door but I haven't yet managed to remove all the soundproofing to expose bare metal.I have had my head under the dash with a torch but can't see any light or gaps that it could be coming from. I have checked the scuttle run offs and poured water all over but can't see it any ideas on what else to check as I am concerned that the wiring will get damaged and gremlins will set in. I do have a panaramic roof but cant see any problems there. any advice appreciated

First bit of hot weather and my air conditioning is not up to much, its much colder just leaving the window open! Does anybody know where the valve is on a 2.0 TDCI GHIA as I still have a can of topup in the garage and was considering giving it a go ? Or any advice on Aircon with Climate control is appreciated so I get some cold air before the real summer kicks in. Thanks

Thanks for all the help,I've had a play and unpugging the MAF makes no difference at all so Im thinking of giving it a go and getting one. Looking on Ebay there appear to be lots of aftermarket ones that are a lot cheaper.Some of the post say stay away but I wondering is it worth giving it a goto eliminate the issue rather than spend over

I have a 2001 1.9 TDI(115)Galaxy with what looks like the common Power loss issue I can see on the forum The problem I have is that due to the volume of great information and detail on this issue I am slightly confused and not sure which way to go as they all seem to be valid - MAF,Turbo Vanes,MAP etc. As Money is tight any advice on best guess or logical steps is appreciated. Car is very sluggish and unresponsive when I accelerate, however when it does hit around 2500-3000 revs it does pick up which makes me think the Turbo might be fine.Flat out in 4th or 5th i am lucky if i can get it above 50 unless i drop to 3rd but it really appears to struggle. It also appears to be worse when its cold outside. Every blue moon it appears to run OK but never lasts long.

All Sorted I now have a fully functioning Sat Nav on the 2008-2009 Maps. After searching the Internet I found a few comments stating that some players don't like the software update on CD as per the instructions. I burned the files to a standard DVD and after inserting the system began to update to version 4.40 straight away. All Post code and POI now fully working.

I currently have a Ford Galaxy MKIII with a Denso Sat Nav system but once I go south of Milton Keynes the map plays up and goes blank (version 2005-2006).When i look at the disc it is scratched which may explain it. I have downloaded version 2008-2009 and when I put this in the unit it shows the map no problem even south of Milton Keynes however it will not let me enter any destination or postcode.Recent destinations and the home position work fine. Any ideas ? - I tried putting in the 4.40 software update disc and nothing happens so assume I may be on the correct version - how do I check Are there any later maps available for download worth trying ?

My remote central locking as stopped working but my remote key appears to be working OK. When I follow the reprogramming steps I get the LED flashing 5 times which I assume is a successful reprogram and that the remote part is working. Is this a correct assumption and any ideas what else it could be ?

I recently purcahsed a 56 plate Galaxy Ghia and after the 1st week I now have a very annoying rattle from the overhead storage area when driving. There is nothing in the storage and if I touch any of the drawers or even the side near the sun visor it stops. Any ideas how to stop it or adjust as its driving me mad and stopping me enjoying the drive?

Hi,I have just bought a Galaxy and found your very useful article I just need to implement it (4 girls fighting over 2 headphones is not a good place to be !) Having looked at the back of the unit from the back seats there appears to be 3 blocks of connectors and it is the middle one that is not used.Is this the one that you connect into ? Also is pin 1 top left as you look from the rear ? Any confirmation you can give is appreciated Thanks
