hi guys anyone know where i can buy a revesr light switch/sensor for galaxy 2.8v6 (other then from ford themselfs) Its the switch/sensor that sits on the gearbox.

hi there the problems you were having sound very much like what i was having! after six months of driving it that way the gear box finally died on me when i was visiting my bro in hospital 100miles away from home! and i didnt have roadside cover! :-( the gear crunch and kicked it out of first with a hugh grinding grunt and i was then unable to select any gear. i got towed to saftey and the gear box oil poured allthe way up the road. it needs a whole new gear box which cost approx 500 for a recon one and about 300 to get someone to fit it. we used ace gearboxes in northampton and we collect ours nx week. i hope this is not the case the case for you as its alot of money! good luck

Hi guys, thought i was share my story too when we first bought our galaxy the battery was flat and the speedo dials didnt work at all. charging the battery and putting it back into the car it worked find. the battery kept dying on us and every time we jump started the car none of the dials worked. is thisthe kinda thing thats happening to you guys? since having a flat battery nearly all the time we worked out that our alternator was dying which is now replaced, and we havent had a flat battery since. could your problems be gearbox related as our gear box has now packed up and left for the scrap yard! am very insterest in what your problems were???

hi i used a local company to replace the alternator on my 2.8 v6 galaxy and it cost 205 pounds all in! sms motor engeningers, they say they use ford parts only.

HI sepulchrave I Called the rac out after lots of head scratching.... yes it is immobiliser issue... my partner pulled the key apart getting the buggy out the boot. rac guy said that there was the micro chip missing from the key fob so we went back to where we parked the car and hey presto there it was under a car. Got home and tried it and it was that, that was the prob. I dont have a spare key but think im gonna invest one now! Thanks for the quick response sepulchrave

Hi Donna + guys Im having the same problem with my 2.8 galaxy We went to tesco yesterday parked up fine not a problem, went shopping and when we got in the car to go it would not start. The little read light on the door is flashing like mad. The cars turns over but the engine cuts out. We had to get taxi home and get my partners car to tow it home. where are the relays located as i have not tried this yet? thanks Cerlywiggers
