hi there wonder whether anyone can help me avoid an excessive garage charge. I have a galaxy that was sorn for 4 months. Needed to take it to it's MOT. Batter was flat so went to open bonnet. Release wire came out and now I can't get the bonnet open. I am not too worried about aesthetics and am happy to force the bonnet if necessary. Garage told me that they would have to dismantle radiator etc from underneath to get at catch which sounds to me like a pricey job. Any advice ? I have always hated that wire bonnet release mechanism, i have always felt that it was on the point of failing every car I've had. Incidentally the car is an automatic am I right in thinking it cant be bump started and that I would also have to pay a recovery charge to get it to the garage for them to fix it. Thanks Piersie
