  1. I'd be glad to hear if you get to the bottom of how to fix the vent motor as my 1:9 tdi has a similar problem - nothing coming out of dash vents vagcom gives a fault with vent motor. I've searched this site but can't find anything on this problem. Thought about spaying wd40 into vent to hopefully free off motor?
  2. I don't want to worry you but my 52 plate1.9 tdi suffered the same, I put it down to the turbo vanes being coked up that was until I entered the m4 at Swindon accelerated hard and then bang went the turbo along with £800 out my wallet, so be prepared!

I had exactly the same problems after I drained & refilled coolant, it took many hours of trying to bleed the system before it was fixed, turns out the aux heater at the rear is a bugger for air locks; get the front end of the car up in the air, run engine till hot with all the heaters blasting out hot, then allow to cool right down & top up. Repeat this again several times also get a new electric pump.
  4. I'm in the process of fitting a new tyurbo to my 52 plate 1.9tdi. Does any body know where I can get hold of a oil feed pipe, the old one twisted and snapped while trying to undo it. Fords want £74 for a new one complete with unions, olives etc. does a VW sharan or allambra have the same pipe? any help would be appreciated.

I had this problem on my 52 plate 1.9tdi, before you start stripping the turbo charger, try filling your car with 6 of your biggest mates or pop down b&q and fill the car with a dozen bags of sand, then give it a good run up the nearest motorway making sure you slow down then accelerate hard again over and over again winding the turbo up each time, this will get the turbo really hot and clean off all the crap on the vanes.
  6. Disaster has struck - Pulled away from a roundabout in my 2002 1.9TDi and BANG then a horrible grinding noise. As an regular reader on this site, I was left with no doubt what had happened - the drive shaft splines had gone. In my search for a new shaft & gearbox output flange I went through the web and phoned all my local motor factors all gave the same answer ;its a main dealer part. My local ford dealer wanted
  7. It sounds the same as the problem I had on my 1.9 Tdi. That was down to the turbo being clogged up due to it only being used on local runs. The Tdi turbo has variable vanes which will clog with carbon/soot deposits if underused.Try loading the car up with all your mates or a dozen bags of sand and giving it a good run up the motorway making sure you work the engine ie overtaking accelerating, going hard up through the gears to get the turbo hot, this will burn off the deposits and should cure your problem.
  8. If anybody can shed any light on this problem before I have to resort to my local Fraud dealer it would be appreciated. The air con packed upon my galaxy 1.9 tdi ghia 52 plate just before the usual 3 days of british summertime started, had it recharged, the compressor was cutting in, however every time it cut in there was gas with dye in it blowing out of what looks like a small valve thing on rear of the compressor below the pipe connection. Not to sure what this means!
