Agree, glow plug failure, happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Seems to be a build up of fuel, had to remove fuse until I could sort it out.

Only £10 in it so far between krap fit and one other, will keep trying !

Hi, I have a 2004 tdi 130 need to change centre exhaust and probably rear . Cheapest quote I have had is £225. I can source it myself for £104. Seems like a massive markup for a 40 min job! Has anyone replaced one themselves and if so do I need a ramp ? Any help would be much appreciated.

Thought the inner boot was not an MOT item, outer ( near the wheel is ). £140 to straighten brake hose and change lightbulb ?

Galaxy coming up to a service - local indy garage quoted

VW say there are 2 sorts but read somewhere on here that Ford did not update the heater - therefore AVS parts - list it as GH001. Still worth bearing in mind what one of your replies said - heater only works below 10C and only if engine is fairly cold - I would be suprised if mine started again after a 10min break. Good luck !!

Hi Paulh, I had exactly the same problems as you with my heater - cleared faults, would run a few times, then faults re appear. I bit the bullet and changed the Glow plug -

Thanks to this forum, I sorted out my Galaxy. Problem was terrible vibration on power steering/aircon compressor/alternator.After reading advice, narrowed it down to the alternator pulley clutch. had some amazing answers from garages - even after I told them what needed to be done. 1. Alternator specialist - told me could be a problem - did several a day but if bad, would have to remove engine !! 2.V.W independant - very difficult job, would take about 3 hours. 3 Local garage phoned all parts suppliers,inc Ford - no part available - I suggested V.W dealer down the road -had it in stock for

Please can someone tell me the correct battery for a 2004 Diesel 130hp Ghia ? Present one is 70AH 570 cold cranking. Seems to charge OK but struggles a little to turn over . Cheers !

Hello all ! I've been reading your forum for the last couple of weeks. Found it really useful !! - if at times scary ! Bought my Galaxy today it's a 2004 ghia tdi 130. Good ones seem like gold at the moment - most dealers are asking almost a grand over book price ! Bought from a local ford garage for 7K (44K miles FSH etc). So far very impressed with them - voiced concern about brakes, cambelt etc.So they serviced it,replaced cambelt,all new discs/pads, 2 new tyres (others looked fine),new front shocks !
