Hi i have a galaxy mk2 2.3 petrol having a starting problem at the mo some days it will start and others it needs a booster pack on it, had a meter on it charges around 14v, when trying to start it drops to about 8v. had battery and alternator checked both ar ok doing what there suposed to be doing, did have a new starter fitted nt 6mths ago, what i did notice was the engin e fuse box the second black wire was all burnt could find where this wire go's to and if its the problem the usual alternator wires fine changed tha along with the fuse box over 12 mths ago. did a bit of looking around the wire thats burnt is vehicle interior wire has anybody chance the wire and how easy or hard is it would apreciate any ones help on this if pos thanks john

hi i stripped the boot of all caseing put a multi meter on the black wire at the wire in the side box bellow the lights upto the left and right side thinking it was the usual break int the wire but there was continuity going to both. the white and read wire is live but the thick black isint, is the thick black wire supose to be live or is one part of the screen live and earth?

Thanks all the link was good just a bit tec for me there is 1 or 2 fuses i need to check not just fuse 51, when you hear a click when you switch it on you think its a relay doing the biss not a ciurcut board. i think my car is coming to an end caint complain its been a taxi for the last 5 years bought it with 75000 its got 189000 on a x reg mk2 type.

Hi i have checked the wirring and and there is contniuity from the start of the black wire in the box where the jack is, the part that has the cluster of wires three conectors and the middle has the black wire is to the screen both wires. where is the GEM Board?

Hi can anyone help please, the rear screen does not demist when i put the switch on i get the click to say its on and the lighs on the switch but nothing happens, i checked the wires in the back door with a multi meter from the junction box to the screen and there is life to both sides, when i switch the button on there is no power to the wire at the backin the cubyhole, the black wire. i have searched all over the place and nothing except try fuse 51 and fuse 19 there ok but cant seem to find if there is a relay that my need changing ? what i have allso notice when i look the doors on the remote tne indicators dont flash when i open the lock on the key fob they do flash. I have a X reg mk2 2.3 petrol Would apreciate all the help on this thanks

Hi I did check if the fan was working it did fire up not had much chances to look at it with work will have a good look today. thanks Hi just checked all fuses all are fine is there a way to check the relay under the fuse box by the battery?

I do have a fuse box by the battery only it has max 8 fuses in it but there is a relay under it not sure what that does all the fuses in the black box are ok dont seem to find the fan switch any where it looks like a job for an auto elec i think

Hi dont want to sound daft but what is fuse 104 and 105 in the auxiliary box?

Hi all i have a 2.3 gia petrol on a 2001 plate x reg the problem i am having is with the temp gage and fans if i am sat idle for a bit the temp needle rises but the fans dont come on i have changed the thermostat and still no sign of the fans coming on can any one help mew locate the fan switch or fuse pleas thanks
