no joy through ebay, trawled through but most of them petrol. Will now try the vw route. Anyone have any tips on how to match my galaxy engine to the correct sharan model?

Hi I hope someone can help and hope I've posted this in the right section. I'm a new member and wanted to ask about parts support. We've had this problem for months. My dad has a 1996 ford Galaxy 1.9 GLS diesel in which the belt kept snapping. It was because the Alternator mounting bracket was broken. The problem is, Ford no longer supply this part! We've checked all the breakers. Eventually had to weld the part together but that didn't last long? There must be somethig we can do? Thanks in advance
