Does it power up the screens when you turn it on?. the remote defaults to the last screen to be operated, so if the drivers seat was used to operate the system via the remote then you can only turn it on again by pionting the remote at the infa red sensor on the drivers side, and not the passenger one.!! Have you changed the battery in the remote? if the remote is not working properly then you can always buy one from ford at a cost of

i had a similar problem where i could not get the dvd player to work and the screens wwould only come on if i plugged an auxilliary unit into it. i changed the control box in mine and it works perfectly now. Try changing the control box (the black box above the dvd player) this controls all the signals to the screens and the dvd player, it is not cheap but it is certainly cheaper than the dvd player from ford.
