  1. Hi, Thanks for the response. Before I try the other checks that you have mentioned. The car is mainly used for short journeys. Mostly does it in lower gears. If i`m motorway driving it tends to run ok in 6th. Only really happens when accelerating. Happens in hot and cold temps. The engine has not been remapped. Thanks for your help. Mike
  2. Its been going on for the last 4 months. Hasn't gone away and come back. Also the oil light came on yesterday and I found that it was nearly empty. I do check the oil, so I feel this has ran down quicker since the fault occured.
  3. Hi, I have a Galaxy 19.TDI 05. About 4 months ago the car developed a problem. When applying a little pressure to the accelerator the car would start to judder and black smoke comes out of the exhaust. We hooked a computer and there were no obvious faults. The injectors and turbo was working ok. Someone mentioned that it might be the lobes on the camshaft might be worn. So we checked them and couldn
  4. I have check the connections on the heater controls and they seem ok. Do you know where I should be looking. When fitting the radio. I fed cable underneath the glove box and fitted an amp under the passenger seat. Is there any connections around these areas I could of knocked?
  5. Thanks for the response. That is exactly the problem. i`ll check out the connections.
  6. I have pulled out the controls and checked all wiring. it seems to be ok. I still have the fault. Any other ideas? Could i have damaged the controls in any way? It wasn't a straight forward plug in radio. I had to mess about with the wiring a little.
  7. Hi all, Hope someone can help. I have a 05 galaxy. I have a problem with the heater / fan control unit. Yesterday I fitted a new radio. Straight after this I took the car out. Turned on the AC. The AC button started to flash for a minute the switched off. I now have no power going to the fan control. The only thing that works is the fan speeds. I have no heat and cannot turn on the rear fans. None of the buttons will light up at the bottom. (AC/Rear fans and recycle) I thought it would be a fuse that has blown. I check fuses 1 -34 and cannot find anything blown. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I might have done something when fitting the radio?
  8. Has the car got can-bus ? Radiotwo Sorry, but what is a can-bus?
  9. Forgot to mention - its a 2005 Galaxy TDI. Could someone tell me which fuses I should check for the radio? Thanks
  10. Hi, Hopefully someone can help me. I just installed a new 2 din radio. It work for a couple of minutes then all of a sudden I turned it on and the power went. After doing some investigating, I found the the red ignition live has no power. The constant is ok. I can wire the radio directly to constant but it will always be on. I have checked the obvious fuses and the are ok. Has anyone else come across this problem or do you have any advice about a different source for power. Thanks
