  1. hi, my galaxy 2.3-ghia- 2001 is idling too high, it happens when you take your foot off the throttle it idles at about 1300 rpm, if i press the throttle again it sometimes goes back down to 750-800 rpm, temperature gauge is smack in the middle & uses no water, any ideas please? thanks, gordon.
  2. engine management light went off on its own & stayed off, car running well again so hopefully all is well.. thanks to all who helped. cheers, gordon.
  3. thanks for that, any idea of the cheapest place to get one please? i am based in north wales so would have to be delivered, thanks, gordon.
  4. hi all, thanks for taking the time to read this, my galaxy 2.3 2001 model started slightly misfiring under load yesterday, went in it this morning & it was getting steadily worse with the engine management light flashing, this afternoon- worse again & now engine management light permanently on, was thinking of starting with the plugs then ht leads but just wondering if anyone had any better knowledge of this than me? thanks again, gordon.
  5. thanks for the replies, got a mate who works for ford main dealer, i will try get hold of him to have a look, thanks again.
  6. hi, purchased a 2001 galaxy 2.3 last month & car going great apart from a noise like hissing air when i release my foot off the brake pedal, brakes work fine & no warning lights on the dash. sounds like a wagon`s air brakes!. also the cruise control doesent work so was wondering if the 2 are connected? or do all galaxy`s have this air noise as i cant say i noticed it before, thanks for looking, gordon.
  7. push the slide switch on left stalk so that cruise control symbol illuminates on dash, then press rocker switch on the end of the stalk, remove foot from accelerator peddle, this engages the cruise control and sets the speed. Now you can use the rocker switch to increase or decrease speed, press firmly up or down and you will feel speed alter. If you brake, use clutch or use accelerator peddle you will disengage CC although the symbol remains illuminated on the dash. If you then press rocker switch again, cruise control is re-engaged. To switch off completely, use slide switch so that CC symbol on dash disappears. no particular speed required that I have noticed but only tend to use it on motorways etc Think that just about covers it. i dont think mine is working then!, when i slide the switch no cruise control symbol illuminates on the dash, i also noticed that the glove compartment light does not work & believe that this is on the same fuse, although the clock does work which i again believe is on the same fuse, any common problems on these or is it a trip to the auto electricians? thanks for replying, gordon.
  8. can anybody tell me how the cruise control works please? ie do you have to be doing a certain speed before you set it? i tried switching mine on & off but it does nothing & no display comes on the dash, is there any common faults that would help me? thanks, gordon.
