  1. what makes you think its the immobiliser? i was told by the man that came to fit it that might be and now he has had a full check over the car he said it could be the immobiliser or the fuel cut off value as everything else is ok on the car. he can`t seem to find the reset switch for the fuel cut out value now ! any ideas ! the manual says its under the passageners seat but its not there or under drivers seat either ! might just have to put it into ford and get them to find the fault! but its time and money ?
  2. you need to take the key apart and see if the chip is still in there (a little rectangular black thing) this turns the immobilizer off when you put the key in the ignition, it is picked up by a ring around the ignition and tells the ecu its ok to start, if you have changed the battery i suspect it has come out, i have had this problem with several customers, replacing this chip could cost up to
  3. hi have just brought a ford galaxy 1998 tdi for my job! but i have been driving it for a few days and now i went out to start my school run this morning and it wont start (turns over) have been told its the immobiliser on the car! and that i have a vw engine ! not sure what that matters! i have had new battery put in the central looking key but the key doesn`t seem to work either (little red doesn`t come on) is there a reset switch or just a wire to cut to turn the immobolisier turned off! childminder in great need of some help and advice ! ! !! ! !
