  1. Hi if i were you i would take out the clocks and check the bulb in there, it could be a blown bulb or someone could have removed it as it has an airbag fault, this does come into the mot now, since jan 1st 2012.....
  2. hi thanks for the replies chaps, will have another go tomorrow.......
  3. Hi first things first you need to find the water leak, the car wont run properly with a leak, if you cant find a leak the only places the water can be going is out the exhaust or in the oil, if thats the case unfortunatly its a head off job by the sounds of it! Alternatly just keep topping it up with water until the problem gets worse so that you can pin point it that way.....
  4. HI all, can anyone help ive just repaired a 1.9 tdi galaxy with accident damage most of the airbags went off, ive replaced everything apart from the airbag ecu, does anyone know how to reset it and turn out the light, i have access to VAG? thanks
  5. or try to turn it off using vag-com if you can find someone with it!
  6. hi if you cant repair it the only option is to replace it. get one off of another car including the loom or at least a good part of it so that you can join all the wires.... i would try a bit harder first though to repair the one you have, if you break it you break it, it can always be replaced
  7. hi yeah the loom comes as a seperate loom that you can plug in , if you look at the front right hand side of the head you will see where the main loom attaches to the one in the head, it is the one in the head thsat you need to replace, you will need to remove the exhaust manifold to get to the bolts on the back of the rocker cover off, and its pretty easy to change once the rocker cover is off. from memory it was about
  8. does the compressor kick in or not? if it does not then id say its low on gas.
  9. i take it the noise is on gear change? what gearbox oil does it have in it? i changed mine to dexron 2 and that was about 2 years ago and its going fine.....
  10. Hi i had this problem and turned out to be the injector loom in the head, think i had to remove exhaust manifold to get the rocker cover off as there are bolts i couldnt get to at the back. fitted new loom and job done,
  11. hi the fault was a dodgy speedo sensor in the gearbox, the one that controls the speedo on the dash.
  12. Hi just make sure the gears dont crunch and it comes with service history and you should be fine with the mk2.... ive got 2 of them
  13. I agree i wouldnt put one on my car but they seem to sell alot of them. Mainly to boy racers i expect. The reason the egr valves are not on all the newer engines is because they dont produce all the nitrogen oxides that the older engines do.
  14. Hi the air leak on the pedal sounds like the servo has got a air leak, mine does exactly the same, its been like it a year now and has got no worse, when it does i will change it. as it is the brakes are fine and ive got no probs but it should be changed really.
  15. Hi if things are working ok why mess about with them, the pd engine is a good engine, if you want to speed it up a bit why not try this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200418387005&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:GB:1123 ive not tried it but basically it works by altering the signal between the ECU and fuel temperature sensor. The ECU thinks that the temperature of the diesel is hotter than it actually is (88deg c) and adjusts the fuelling/boost and injection timing parameters let us know how you get on........
