  1. Many thanks, will give it a go
  2. Hi m8. I am well aware that is supposed to happen but I may not have been clear enough. Not sure if the cold spell and rain could cause an issue, but my mrs got into the car this evening and could not select a gear out of park. Afer numerous jiggles of the gear stick and pumping the break it decided to release, but is very fiddley. Whre abouts do I try to reset the pedal swith? I presume it is under the pedal? I have changed a break light switch before, is it next to that? Cheers.
  3. Seems my Auto gear stick will not come out of park unless a I give heavy few kicks on the break. Any ideas? I've got a few problems, seems like the wrong time of year for me lol. Does anyone live local to Croydon who could help out with a diagnostic for a few quid. Happy new year all.
  4. Thanks Soptom Makes me even more inclined to get it looked at and loose the black tape blocking it :o I have look through my autodata but it doesn't help much. Hopefully someone local to me might help out if they read this post.
  5. It would be slightly more useful to let us know what version of the Gal you have i.e. year, engine, gearbox etc. Regards - John Thanks for replys, it's a 2.3 ghia auto 1999 petrol Mitcham Surrey is my location.
  6. Hi Guys, Back again with another problem. Stopped for a bite to eat and came back to see the airbag light glowing constantly. I've tried the seat belt retainers but no avail, wondered if it can be reset manually? Also started pinking slightly on low revs, presume this is a timing/tuning issue? I have still not fixed my wipers, they are hitting faster speeds than a traffic cop on the way to the chippy. I will give it a go in the hols but can anyone give me some pointers on what to check in what order for wipers stuck on one speed. Many thanks fellow galaxians and a merry crimbo to you all :o
  7. Hmmm Thanks. Is it replaced easy or whole motor needed, or anything I can do, like wack it with a 10lb hammer :P
  8. Hi all, back again with another problem. The front wipers are on turbo charge, I am presuming it could be an alternator fault as they run normal speed if the engine is not running. Some advice needed please :o
  9. No it's not, only when accelerating and it seems to drop levels on auto gear change. Thankyou for reply.
  10. Hello and firstly let me thank the person who started this place, it has been extremely useful in the past, but on this issue I can not find any other posts. I bought this mpv about 2 months back and it has always had this issue which can be drowned out by level 1 on the radio which can give you an idea of how loud it is. It can only be described as some form of feedback, the kind you would expect to hear if a suppressor was not fitted on a radio, but it is still prominent even with the radio off. It also increases and decreases with acceleration, and a new auto gearbox was fitted a few months back, not sure if that is relevent. Adding to the decription a little further, if you have ever heard a kind of whistle/high pitced noise that comes through a mobile phone conversation, when someone is driving but silent, that would pretty much sum it up. Thanks in advance. riz. 2.3 ghia - S reg - auto - petrol
