My galaxy is a p reg mark one , 2.8 ghia , i think the engine code is AAA , are all 2.8 mark 1 galaxy engines coded aaa or are there other codes as well? many thanks.

was out earlier and had a look and found what looks like two sensors , these are on the right of the engine looking in to the engine bay http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/2503/snc00031r.jpg these are to the right and at front near where radiator is , would it be either of these ? and if it is then im guessing its the blue one ( only 2 wires ) how do they come out ? thanks for help:)

thanks for the reply lewie, il swap ths sensor first ( if i can find it lol ) and if it doesnt make any difference then ill try what you suggested, its a shame as the car is going really well when it runs right , but its annoying when it cuts out like it does.

Hello all Got a ford galaxy 2.8, v6 mk1 that is running fine when cold but as soon as it warms up it just cuts out whether its stopping at roundabouts etc , Have searched here and it seems to narrow down to one of two sensors ( camshaft and speed sensor) now my haynes manual doesnt cover this type of engine and i was wondering of the position of these sensors, the cost of them and if they are simple enough to change , also what one is it more likely to be? thanks for any help received :huh: ps also car is a manual and i have difficulty getting into 3rd gear , if i try to get 3rd then i can feel a crunching type feeling through the gearstick , is this more than likely to be a clutch or something else?

Been having problems with drivers side front window ( electric ) and it turns out the ( bike brake type ) cable had frayed and broke, Just bought one from ebay and it is in 2 parts, Has anybody got a photo or diagram of how it should look ? and how easy is it to fit in the door? cheers :)

Hi all, My window has stopped working ( drivers , electric ) but can still hear the motor , so i took the door card off and found a broken cable ( wire but not electrical ) and a rubber tube just hanging down, cable is frayed and snapped but couldnt release the motor to trace the cable, is this an easy fix? thanks all :ph34r:

just had it confirmed by my local tyre people ( speedy fit - enfield town , good company higly reccomended btw ) that it is my coil pack and i should get it sorted. Engine is a v6 so is this an easy ( cheap ? lol ) job to do ? cheers all.

just sounds like a louder exaust , but it doesnt sound louder when i open the door, the earth could tie in the the fuel gauge tho and will check it in the morning, thanks for the reply mate.

Went out in the galaxy last night ( 2. ghia v6 petrol , manual ) and it drove fine , Got to tesco, went in to do a bit of shopping, came out , car started fine and drove off, noticed the fuel gauge needle was showing empty and ornage empty light was on, but had half a tank ,so switched off ,and on and the gauge started working properly again but car is now sluggish, noisy and seems like it will stall everytime i stop, ( not sure if exsaust is now louder ) Is there anything electrical i can check or was the non working gauge a coincedence?

Have you thought about parking it round the corner and phoning the aa ? :angry:

Ill ring them in the morning and see if they have an undershield in their workshop , and also mention the exhaust, if they can leave a sheild off then god knows what else they can do lol

thanks radiotwo, I phoned the local exaust place rather then take it to them so they didnt have it on ramps but i have a set of ramps and will drive it up them tomorrow and have a look, Also when i was looking to see if i could see where the blow was (laying in road looking under engine, i could see into the bottom of engine but i always thought galaxies had a metal plate under the engine so you couldnt see the engine from underneath, now have fords left this off mine or was it never there?

Ive also had this problem ( not frozen but sticking ) And as above said, its the handbrake sticking at the rear wheel end, And i also crawled under the back and you can push the lever up to release the brake. I also now leave the car in gear when parked and dont pull the handbrake all the way up .
