  1. Could tell me which fuse no. and/or location as I have total interior light failure and checked the obvious fuses? Thanks in advance.
  2. Please could someone tell me if the interior lights of a 98 Galaxy/Alhambra should fade out when switching off rather than a direct off? I have a fault in the interior light system (i.e. they're not working) and could do with the info to help in diagnosing the fault. Slowly narrowing the fault down.... Can't remember whether they used to or not - please can someone tell me if theirs does? Many thanks!
  3. I've used a cheapo one off ebay on my 98 alhambra. Followed instructions and it connected to car first time. Only problems come with the software - its an old restricted version and isn't clear what some of the values are actually showing and because its a restricted version can only show a few fault codes at a time. Does clear fault codes though, and helped me diagnose a faulty ABS sensor - plus cleared the fault code after. For the price you can't complain!
  4. Could someone let me know if the fade/delay function of the interior lights are controlled directly from the control module and go via a seperate fuse or relay? I'm thinking this is the common factor between the middle and front interior lights. I'm still struggling trying to diagnose my fault!!
  5. Thanks for the reply. Yes power is getting to the bulbs as they work fine manually - you can switch them on and off and they light up so the bulbs are ok. They used to work fine, and as I say the confusing part is that the boot and the lights on the doors all light up as they should and the indicators on the instrument panel indicate the doors are opening and closing! Are the front and middle lights on a different circuit? Thanks!
  6. Just to follow up.. repaired wiring and now the window problem has gone away - central locking is working as it should etc, even alarm LED now flashing in the drivers door. HOWEVER the front and middle courtesy lights are still not working. The boot lights come on, as do the lights in the doors and they can both be manually turned on and off. The door switches must be working, and you can hear a relay clicking when you operate the door switch.... please has anyone any ideas??
  7. I have a problem with the notorious total closure system. All the windows wind themselves down as soon as I turn the ignition key off the ignition position. If I leave the car locked, after a few minutes the car will unlock itself and the windows will go down again. They all close if I lock the door with the key and keep it turned (as it should?) The car's a 98 Alhambra, and doesn't have the central locking module under the passenger seat (i've checked) as I was expecting to find one sat in a pool of water. The tailgate wiring in the rubber boot was in a poor state, so I've repaired that - there were a few possible shorts as there were bare wires. I checked the door wiring, they all seem to be in good order. Whether its a coincidence or not, the interior lights now only illuminate in the boot - not the front or middle ones. They switch on and off manually and the door switches work as it turns on and off the boot lights. This definately has only just started happening. The first hint of anything starting to go wrong was yesterday when I shut the tailgate - the lights flashed as though it had armed the alarm - after that the problem seems persistant. Could it be a short in the wiring caused a permenant fault in the central locking ECU, or is a reset possible? Any help would be very much appreciated - I've had to disconnect the battery just to prevent the car filling with rain!
  8. I have a very similar problem - wondering if a solution was found?
