Evening all... First time on the site after having recently bought a 2.8 Galaxy. One thing that everyone has overlooked is that if the cost of petrol is too much...convert to LPG!! I have just converted my Galaxy and already have a Jaguar 3.2 and a Honda Accord 2.0 on it. No longer do I feel my anger rising as I watch the pump tick over at 80p+ per litre. 35p - 39p is the standard price for LPG. Finding a station that offers LPG is no longer a problem with all the big outlets such as BP and Shell and some of the supermarkets now offering it. Not only is it easier on the wallet, you are getting the obvious benefits of the superior/more refined performance that a petrol engine offers. Every time my two current cars are serviced it's always a suprise to see how clean the oil still is due to no deposits being left by the gas. I can't recommend it highly enough.....depsite some of the horror stories that some people would have you believe. Get it done by a registered installer and you are guaranteed as with anything. The other big concern is that of pollution (although being a Jaguar owner doesn't normally mark one out as being a greeny!!) Most of you are also talking about urban driving and as such the huge levels of Nitrogen Oxides and particles that diesels emit should be a real concern. These are now recognised as the main contributing factor for the rise in respiratory problems and asthma in towns and cities...hence most of the buses and taxis now in Chester are being run on LPG. Just my thoughts...(I have no link to any LPG installation before I get accused of marketing! :D Good luck with you new purchase whatever you choose. Cheers Spencer
