Thanks gents tried the bridge test she fired up ok but very smoky but it looks like the censor is on its way out hence it only kicks in at -0 so might as well do the plug as she's 104k and never had a problem up to now

I all having read all the threads on aux heater and done a bit of fiddling it looks like my censor has gone ,( only came on when it was -0 now not at all) Is the part the same number for the censor that's sit under the wiper linkage as the one behind the front grill just can't find the any other number cheers and merry Xmas to all

sorted it . It just a single fuse holder and wire taped to the side no wonder I couldn't see it . Thanks

Hi all my 2 rear power point have packed up . I have searched the forum and it came back with ( under the seat and 20a fuse in left/top/side interior fuse box ) looked under the seat's all that's there is relays for heated seats. and replaced the 2 20a fuses. but sill not working I am missing something apart from the where a bouts of the fuse. ford galaxy ghia x 1998/9 110 afn also check vds no faults

Before you spend your good hard earned cash check the ABS rings around the cv joints they have a habit of coming away first I had the same problem order sensor turned out to be abs ring common fault luckily I got a refund

Hi can anyone tell me if vag com (free verion) whitch module will tell if there is a fault on the vacuum pipes /solenoid/ turbo .egr . etc as my gal is starting to get poor mpg and starting to struggle with the 3 large ladys in the back . i have swapped the maf out with a good one no change . 1.9 tdi , 110 bhp AFN Cheers

hi Chris all pipes and hose's are clear don't seem to be loose replace breather tube (cracked) about 6 mth ago only started leaking this month the leak is were the valve meets the breather tube . not excess crankcase pressure ? cheers

as you can all guess i am having a few problems with my gal :( i have just spotted oil leaking from the pressure regulating valve were it meets the cam breather tube . valve,breather tube and air hose are all clear can any give me any possible causes

Hi all just need a bit of advice i am going to replace all the vacuum hose's on my gal 1.9 tdi AFN just want to make sure i order the correct sizes , 3.5 mm and 5mm cheers

heater not kicked in yet (not been on earlys and not heard it ticking away )and gave it a good italian tune up the other day it's just the way it didn't anything when i was doing 40 ish in 5 th ( lazy driver) put my down and no response what so ever had to drop to 4 th and should it sound like a locomotive .

was thinking that myself oil, oil and fuel filters only as the air filter is as clean as a whistle but me thinks it could be timing slightly out at first i thought it was a blown head gasget as she was wheezing and whistleing like a deisel train coming in to the station but no oil leaks or any signs of water anywhere . checked what i could with vag com lite and no faults found :)

hi all is it possible to check the timing and injectors on my gal 1.9 tdi 110 afn with vag com lite . The reason why is she's eating a lot of fuel were i was normally getting 54 mph now getting 37 to 40 and i also noticed the other day for some reason i put my foot down doing 40 ish in 5 th gear and nothing ? so swapped maf over for a spare i know thats works she had a full service and timing belt and tentioners + water pump done 500k ago cheers

Thanks seatkid thats put that one to bed just another 50 to check lol. just noitced a slight oil leak coming from the top of the crank case breather tube might have a blockage some were could be one of the vains again thanks all

just got the car back from the garage who fitted it burninhg smell and smoke was due to contamination on the plate also 2 nut's on the gear box had come loose ? whent for a long drive A+B roads and M/way agood 60 miles and a good blow out( like a rocket) LOL mph start to finish was 50 mph but what i did notice i was changing gears earlier than before and was able to pull away in 5 th at 30 mph now the question is have they put in a 90 bhp instead of a 110. ps, at 60 mph the rev counter was sitting 2,1 which is a bout the same as before Thanks

just a quick up date took the gal for another test drive if i keep the speed and revs low and take very easy i'am getting 51 mpg but as soon as i start putting the rev in to top band the mpg drops very quickly cheers

hi all i have just returned from newquay with my gal and folding camper going their i was getting 48 mpg but coming back only 35 mpg and struggled up some hills and cruise control kicked out just took her for a spin still only getting 37 mpg powers there turbo seems ok just before going i had a new clutch put in ( uk 3 piece ) all ok driving like a dream mph ave 50 . while pulling off the pitch had to use a lot of power to get the camper off the pitch ( sunk in due the rain ) there was a strange noise + sell and a bit off smoke looks like it was coming fron the gear box side ? as i have just said took her for a drive she pull away and drives through the gears fine and powers there Thanks Tom

I had something similar on my 98 110 bhp it turned out to be stalk switch got it flea bay £8 bargain hope this helps

seatkid mine is a Afn 110 so the waterpump runs independant of cam belt still going to change it as i had the aux belt and tensioners done last year because of squeeling noise and the alernator pully was ok but still got the squeel (slightly) only when going into reverse

it's that time we all dred 80k on the clock and cam belt needs doing so going to get the lot done .Is it just the belt, tensioner , ideler and water pump that needs doing or am i missing something cheers
