  1. I have a Galaxy 58 Ghia which came with the new Sony DAB unit as standard. Its a pity i didn't know it would be a DAB unit when i ordered it 5 months earlier because i would have gone for the USB option which the dealer tells me cannot be upgraded afterwards. This means I'm left with having to play a selection of MP3's on a single CD [next time I'm gonna go for the BMW 5 series like everyone else in the office :(] Since i have the various folders containing the tracks grouped by Artist, i tend have the shuffle CD option enabled so i just get a randomish selection of whatever, and if a track comes on that i don't fancy i hit the next track button and get another lucky dip. The only problem with this is that once the ignition is turned off, the unit seems to forget about the shuffle option, so next time i get in the car it starts playing the tracks sequentially. I know its not a hugh problem and in some ways i'm thankful that its the only niggle i have with the car. It is damn irritating though. When i had a 57 reg Galaxy demo for a week back in March, it had a similar Sony unit but without the DAB, and i don't think it ever used to forget this setting. Does anyone else with a Sony DAB unit have the same problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks Ian
  2. Like i said, its a PDA phone with a touch sensitive screen - an Orange M3100 (otherwise known as HTC TyTN). Normally when the screen back light is off (and the phone is in a standby/sleep mode), the screen doesn't respond to anything touching it and the buttons on the phone don't work either (except for the on/off power button). This means i can put the phone in my pocket and not worry about the thing making calls or anything as it moves around in my pocket, but it will still ring if i get an incoming call or txt message. However as soon as the phone syncs up with the bluetooth in the car the screen turns on and the buttons become active (in other words the phone automatically comes out of its sleep mode) meaning that if i forget to take it out of my pocket then it ends up doing all manner of stuff. This never happened in my old car which had a TH Bury System 8 with a universal bluetooth cradle where although the phone would sync's up with the car kit, it wouldn't power-on. There is no setting on the phone that i can find which will stop the phone powering on like this, so i was just asking if anyone knew of any settings in the Ford bluetooth system that controls this behaviour? Ian
  3. I took delivery of my new Galaxy 2 days ago (it only took 5 months from ordering to delivery  ) and so far its been great. I do have one minor issue with the bluetooth and was wondering if anyone had any ideas - if not I'll go back to the supplying Ford dealer but i know I'll probably be greeted with blank looks. I was just searching the net looking for help on a bluetooth problem with my new Galaxy and i found this site. I've got one of these PDA phones (its a company phone) which has rather sensitive touch screen. Every time i switch on the ignition, the bluetooth syncs with the phone and turns the phone on (which means the screen becomes touch sensitive). If the phone happens to be in my pocket and i forget to remove it, then as i'm driving the phone will do all manner of stupid things like dialing the last number, running the web browser, and many other random actions. My old car had a phone craddle so i got used to taking the phone out of my pocket and putting it in the craddle, but the Galaxy doesnt have a craddle. My old car didnt turn the phone on either when the bluetooth sync'd up, so this behaviour is specific (or new) to the Ford Audio system. Does anyone know how to change the Ford Audio system so it doesn't switch the phone on automatically? Thanks Ian
