  1. Ally I've got a 10 plate 2.0 TDCI with just 4500 miles and the same vibration issue. It is only mild but can be felt at all speeds through the pedals, wheel and gear lever. I can just about detect it through the floor too, but alas the garage could not fault it. They balanced the wheels, but I knew that would not change it. It is not too bad for short distances but on long runs I tend to develop a hatred for all things ford! I thought it might be transmission/drive shaft related but the ford dealer said it was unlikely. Good luck with yours and if you do get an answer remember to post it here..please.
  2. I get the same issue with mine, its only done 4500 miles. There is also a very fine vibration that can be felt through the pedals, steering wheel and gear lever. In fact it's so fine that the ford mechanics cannot detect it, but my kids can. My previous 57 plate galaxy had the same transmission clunk. I just thought it was standard issue!
  3. Just got car back from garage, had same erratic wipers, don't come on often enough when its raining, go mental when there is not a cloud in the sky. They couldn't replicate this and so I'm obviously imagining it. Put car alongside a VW passat with auto wipers and the VW went off three or four times more often than mine,(it was raining at the time). I have also found that on a really bright day with deep shadows across the roads, the shadows will always set off the wipers, without fail. The sensor is linked to the auto lights too, but they seem fine at the moment. This is the second Ford I've had and I wouldn't get another. Designed to look good, but underneath just the same old crappy ford workmanship.
  4. All tyres replaced, all angles checked and corrected to within limits and still the steering/handling is awful. It is definitely a problem with pump, rack or computer modules within.
  5. My 57 2.0 tdci also has a problem with the steering. Following a knock on the osf tyre the steering pulls left or right depending on the road surface and as some unusual noises from pump and rack. Every angle has been checked and corrected and all tyres replaced and balanced. Accident repair garage couldn't fix it and most ford dealers couldn't even detect a problem. 'Power steering malfunction' started to appear on my dash but nothing showed up when they plugged computer in so obviously there can't be anything wrong with it!! One dealer in Anglesey agreed with me that there is a problem but could not fix it. Ford Technical told him to try car with 205/50/17 tyres instead of 225/45/17 and he claimed that it made a difference. Therefore Ford closed the case because there isn't a fault with the car! I am currently waiting on action from the Financial ombudsman and Ford Customer relations. Its been 11 months since the bump! No one has mentioned a software problem, but the power steering control module has been recalibrated/reset and now the external temp. gauge reads 5 degrees warmer.
  6. seven up Just out of interest is it a 2.0 tdci with the Electric-Hydraulic steering? Only reason I ask is that my 57 2.0 tdci with EHPAS had a knock on osf tyre and the steering and handling are bloody awful. Some unusual noises from pump/steering rack and car pulls left or right depending on the road. Mines only done 19K. cheers
  7. Hello My 57 2.0 tdci Galaxy suffered mainly panel damage when, whilst turning RIGHT, it hit the rear quarter of a Renault Laguna, and the OSF tyre had a 4 inch cut in the side wall. Since the car has been repaired it does not feel as stable as it was, pulls to the left most of the time and is very unsettled over poor road surfaces. The car has been back to the repair shop several times but to no avail. I have had the wheel alignment checked with the following results: Partial Toe -
  8. hello I couldn't afford the sat nav  , but I have the DVD with screens in headrests. I have similar problem in that I am unable to get hold of the instructions for the unit. Does anyone know if I can get the sound to come through car speakers as an alternative to the headsets. Two headsets and three kids causes endless problems on long journeys! thanks

    Head-rest With Vid

Hello The distance between the centres of the headrest posts is 150mm. The diameter of each post is 11mm. good luck
  10. I have had a similar problem with my 2.0 tdci. Only happens when slowing down. Just as I change gear the engine stalls and all lights appear on dash. After restart there is no problem with it. Last happened a couple a weeks ago in really cold weather, -2 deg on both occasions, don't know if that has anything to do with it. I seem to remember a similar problem with mondeos a few years ago. Dealer says that they can't trace problem unless I take it straight to the garage once it has stalled! Good luck.
