I've had same issue...but i got a bit 'hammer happy' and butchered the spindle thread getting mine free. Does anyone know if i can just a new spindle from somewhere? Maybe from Bosch? Any help appreciated... Sean

Having same issues...air con has new compressor which was all working fine until the other day. Now no click when i turn air con on. Any ideas? Mk2 2.3 petrol. Sean

Hi there How did you get on with this? I've got a 2001 2.3 Zetec and my belt has snapped.. it was making the twittering noise beforehand for about a month. I'm quite a competent mechanic, but i can't see how to get to the lefthand side of the engine to replace the belt and tensioners! There's not even enough room to get my hand down there. I've heard that you need to go in via the wheel arch, but this looks unlikely as it only reveals the bottom of the engine... Any help on how to get to the tensioners and replace the belt would be very much appreciated. Sean
