1998 galaxy 1.9 tdi ghia can anyone help me with a problem i have the heater fan doesn't operate even though it shows that it is on on the digital display and also the wipers only work on speed 2 no intermitent or speed 1 has anyone else experienced anything like this or have any idea how to fix it all the fuses seem ok but the only ones i have located are the ones just above your right knee when driving i guess there are more somwhere with the relays that i havn't managed to find yet Regards Pete

a few things have happened to the car (1998 galaxy 1.9tdi ghia) in the last 2 days and was wondering if there could be a conection Yesterday the heater blower stopped working and then today the central locking and key operated window closure stopped the windows and locking turned out to be a fuse but i cant find a solution to the heater problem does any one have any ideas Regards Pete

i totally agree with every thing you said and just done 700 miles on a full tank of diesel (esso garage)whilst on holiday 360 motorway miles and the rest on a & b roads, i have not noticed any power loss and i only noticed the problem when pulling out onto a fast single carrigeway a road and happened to look in the mirror to see if any one was fast approching me behind. Now i know of the problem i find myself just checking to see if its fixed itself.

hello all i have a 1998 1.9 tdi 140,000 miles and have noticed that i now get a lot of black smoke under hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear when pulling away quickly anyone have any ideas what could be causing this regards pete

went to work on the car tonight, took big cover of underneath engine and found half a bolt further investigation found other half still in (i think)roll resrictor managed to get this out so a new bolt should fix it. thanks for your help

after pulling out of a side road fairly quickly heard a bang and now noisy when pulling away and when on idle and in neutral if you blip the accelerator car seems to try move forward, could this be engine mounting as there seems to be movment in the engine and rattles when ignition turned of 1998 1.9 tdi regards pete

where did you make your joints if all wires (like mine need to be jointed the crimps would stop the tailgate shuting)do you do joints in head lining area or tailgate area reagds pete
