  1. have a couple of friends that work for ford in colchester and one have done just thing im talking about on a mk2 51 plate. the only you could check is to look at subframe bolts and around the holes to see if any rust movement or even bolts r lose.
  2. HI THERE ON FEW OF FORD MODELS THERE HAS BEEN PROBLEMS WITH FRONT WINDOW CRACKING DUE TOO REPLACING GEAR BOX OR CLUTCH WORK .SOME TRY TO DO THINGS TOO QUICKLY AND CUT CORNER ON REFITTING SUBFRAME OR PARTLY UNDOING SUBFRAME TO GET ACCESS. (CAUSING FLEX IN CHASSIS AND CRACKING FRONT SCREEN) .
  3. torque setting for wheel nuts is a must. it sounds like someone has over tightend your wheel nuts at some in its life. causeing the wheel bolts too stretch which will cause self tightening. change will bolts as a start torque setting from 95-01 140nm for alloys and 2001 onwards 170nm
  4. be sure that the j fitting is wide enough too take the wider tyre or you'll have too much roll from tyres . and u will get very poor handeling.
