Normally, a correctly installed LPG car will send a flame through the top of the car which wont explode. I have a film of a test at MIRA by the fire brigade that shows a fire in an incorrectly fitted one that caused a massive explosion which is more worrying. The damage on the car in the news report was minor in comparison.
