  1. never heard of this but only thing left that you have not done is take down the sump and check the screene in the oil sump and see is it blocked with gunge. it may be blocked and not able to get enough oil up to the engine and the presure switch all the time....???
  2. Spoke to AA guy here in Ireland recently and said that the electric power steering pump does not always shut off and can cause the battery to drain.... He is the only person I've heard this from...... Also somewhere on this forum read about a wing mirror electrics caused drain on battery... Hope this poins you in right direction.
  3. I would think its the DMF (dual mass flywheel) Have had the same problem in my galaxy 1.8 125 Tdci. After tomorrow it will be the 3rd one for my car and car has only 44K miles done. It would appear to be a major problem with these fords. Does anyone on here have any idea what is causing the dmf to fail.
  4. Hi all I have a 07 Galaxy 1.8 TDCi 125 and I am wondering is it possible to get a connector to connect the kit to the radio speakers and mute the radio. i can't seem to find an iso cable for it anywhere. I don't want to go cutting wires...... :D . Thanks

  7. Hi all..... I have a 2007 1.8 TDCi 125 6 speed and have never change the pollen filter.... how often should this filter be changed and where is it located and how do you do it. Have found very usefull thread from seatkid for the Mk 1 and Mk 11 galaxy but unfortunately none for the Mk111. Thanks I don't belive I traded my Toyota Avensis for a Ford bucket of S**T. I really miss my TOYOTA.
  8. egr -Exhaust Gas Recirculation. In simple terms it means that it recycles some of the gases back into the engine to get rid of the harmful emissions. Without knowing your vehicle details in full it is pretty hard to tell if its fitted - but the answer will probably be 'yes'. Possible causes for your loss in mpg and other symptoms is that the egr is not operating effeciently at low temperatures, meaning short journeys. It is recommended that at least once a week, the engine is given a good run, with a mix of fast acceleration and high revs (without speeding and red lining). This will in return keep the egr functioning properly. Sorry mine is a 1.8 TDCi Zetec jan 2007...... I see from other posts that they talk about taking it out and cleaning it....does this need doing to sort my problem out...??? My wife only drives approx 2 miles to and from work and stops car again...... does get long runs at the weekends..... Is it a garage job or could i do it myself... Thanks again
  9. Whats an erg valve and how the hell do I find out where it is and would this explain bad mpg 20-25mpg and smokey on start up and exceleration. Thanks Ger
  10. I had this warning recently on my Mk3 2006 2.0TDCI Ghia. Interior sensors located by the front interior overhead light was replaced. I guess though this message could be activated by an untold number of alarm sys faluts. I've only had the car 2 weeks, purchased 2nd hand from a main ford dealer, the fault appeared after a long wet drive to cornwall from surrey....i hope that the fault really was the interior sensor and not related to any water ingress problems i'm reading more and more about. Hi New to this forum but have a 2007 mk111 and had the same problem...... Message appearing on the display and alarm activating for no apparent reason.... Also my wipers stopped working altogether approx 1 week after message first appearing..... Took to my local dealer in Cork Ireland and he explained to me that there is a module under the bonnet that controlls the alarm and wipers. The horn for the alarm is on the side of this module and is pointing up and water running off from the window can get blown into the horn thus filling up the module....... There is a modified alarm module, internal sensor and wiring loom to be fitted. Also when took car in service manager informed that these cars had problem with clutch, flywheel and release bearing and he replaced them also........Mine was done under warranty and works perfectly since.....thank god....bought him a few drinks for all help.. the way to recognise problem with clutch/flywheel is when start the car with door open and you hear a rattle comming from engine bay and if press clutch it dissappears and also you hear/feel a click when pressing or releasing clutch peddle...chances are you are going to get trouble sometime soon from it...... again was told by said same service manager that there is a modified clutch flywheel and release bearing for these cars...... Hope this helps Regards Ger
