Hi Shabazmo, interesting information about the new auto gearbox. Where did you get that? Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing though. It might be more economical but on the other hand when you read all the problems that VW DSG drivers have with their gearbox.... Would love the Ipod connection though!!!!!

I was in a Skoda Octavia TDI Taxi in Athens the other week, the guy had almost 600,000 km on the clock. I chatted with the driver and he confirmed that it was still the first engine, however the second gearbox. That should give you an idea :lol:

It is indeed an accessory. I asked my Ford dealer for the rational, for your entertainment, let me share the answer: The Galaxy is mainly a 7 seater, where the cover is not needed and actually disturbs because there is no place to put it. Also, some customers have told me that they don't need it because if potential thieves can see into the boot, they don't break a window for nothing. My obvious challenge was, what if I do have something I want to hide....... :lol: I agree, it is ridiculous do deliver a 20k+ car without, especially that it is still standard in the S-Max.... One other thought: Inside the showroom I noticed that with dark tainted windows in the back it is almost impossible to look into the boot even if there is no cover. Not sure how this is outside in plain sunshine.

Thanks a lot for all your honest feedback :o Indeed, it being a company car I don't care about the residual value. Leather would be nice, but indeed is too much for the budget. And to be honest, if it is 'cheap' leather, I prefer nice cloth seats. I remember sitting in a leather interior Vauxhall Vectra which was just horrible, felt more like plastic - but then I am spoiled with the leather in my Alfa Romeo :) The Alcantara one in the Titanium S-Max is georgeous, though I wonder if it doesn't wear off where the child seats are fitted? With regards to Auto or not: I have to drive everyday on the Ring-Motorway of Brussels which is the equivalent of the M25 here.... so definitely an auto! 2.2 ist unfortunately not an option anyway due to stupid car tax here in Belgium... Oh well, still unsure about the color... in the end it will be: - either white Ghia with GPS - or dark grey metallic Ghia without GPS - or Trend in dark grey metallich with GPS :o Again thanks a lot to all of you, will keep you posted once the decision is made B)

Hi, I am new here as I am getting a new company car and having been very happy with a MK4 Mondeo, the growing family makes me consider a Galaxy. My question: does anyone here drive a white Galaxy? I am considering ordering it in that color, partly because it is different from all the greys and blacks, and also because it allows me to fit a 2.0TDCI Autmatic Ghia with the extras I want into my company leasing budget, the extra for the metallic paint would mean I have to give up something else... What kind of (cloth) interior would you take? All comments/suggestions, ideally with pictures would be great :D Cheers
