hi there sounds like a leaking injector(s) to me. best to find a diesel engine re conditioner. they might be able to fix your old injector(s) or get new replacement ones cheaper. a lot of up to '03 Volvo's suffer from this. bosch ended up changing the design.

hi there i've had another look at the fill sticker. it says 700+50 for the 'normal' 1 climate system. can someone confirm this is correct for a 2000 (x-reg) galaxy. cheers

hi there i think you might be on to something there. i thought it was 2 zoned as it does the front and back, but doesn't have any roof vents. sounds like it's over filled! i've one of those diy kits in the shed. i must check to see what pressure it's reading and collect some gas into a spare car. that should do me until friday so i can get to my a/c guy. thanks again for the replies. andrew ps. i'll have another look at the lable in the morning.

hi there thanks for that. i got it filled at kwik fit as they do a 'getter lower by 10% or you don't pay'! i phoned my usual a/c guy and he thought the compressor as well. strange, there's now a bit of a whine sound after the gassing, not before it. over to the a/c guy then. :lol: btw, this is what i can do on my scorpio.... http://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/ccreset.htm cheers

hi there is there a way to reset the climate control unit? or does dis-connecting the battery do it? to give you an idea, i've had the flashing dash panel. i got it re-gassed and that fixed that, but the compressor still isn't kicking in. it might not have the correct amount of gas as it's the 2 zoned version. the sticker says 1= 750g, 2= 1050g. is that 1+2? or just 2? that's what they filled it to. on my other car (ford scorpio), we can reset the system (homing the flaps, etc.) and run a diagnostic routine on it using the dash. any help appreciated.
