  1. you have to have car over a pit or in the air and the adjusting bolt is behind the exhaust heat shield just below where the handbrake sits in the car about a foot towards the back
  2. on my 56 plate mk 3 galaxy the rear stop light is a bulb, the light is held into the tailgate by 2 metal clips the way l removed it was by removing the plastic on the inside then shining a torch in the holes remove the metal clips with screwdriver then remove light from outside fit new bulb from local car parts supplier the fit clips back onto lamp before putting back on then when you push it home you should feel it lock in place refit other interior bits and go for a well earned cuppa!! :D
  3. just what you need at christmas is for your handbrake to brake!!! the release button on my galaxy has just stopped releasing and Im not sure if this is gonna be another common fault in the future? Its a 56 plate 1.8tdilx with 69,000 miles on it. In the handbrake mechanism there is a tiny cable that works the release mechanism and this has snapped but the place its snapped in is where it would be chafing as the button is pressed over time, you cannot buy just the cable you can get the handle and button seperate for around
  4. hi I have a 56 plate mk3 galaxy and the steering pump has just failed ie grinding noise, took it to fords and my galaxy has done 58700miles its a 60000 warranty so has just sneaked in for a free repair "phew" but the main part is they havent just replaced the pump they have renewed the hole system steering rack, pipes, tank & pump the guy on the desk says they had 2 at grimsby(Im in scunthorpe) with the same problem but they dont warrant putting just a pump on because theres metal fileings in the oil filter so it has to have the whole lot to eliminate further problems down the line couldve cost around
  5. hi just had my steering pump renewed on my 56 plate galaxy 58000 miles just had it done under warranty but they didnt just change the pump they fitted a new rack all pipe work tank!! they said under warranty it nedes all doing because metal fillings were in the oil filter thus could cause the pump to fail again so they renewed it all which in my eyes is good, mine was same symtoms as yours hope this helps
