I woke on Saturday morning to discover that my 54 reg Galaxy had decided to wind down all the windows overnight. My X reg did this a few times lot, but luckily was still in warranty at the time - this time it's down to me I guess. I can't see anything in the FAQs, but I'm thinking this may have something to do with water getting into the electrics somewhere since my Friday evening journey was 245 miles in very wet conditions.

I'm hoping that this heater is the cause of the smell of diesel in my car, and the occasional puff of exhaust smoke that creeps into the cabin?? I'll be pulling that fuse first thing in the morning. Then investigating the glowplug replacement

This site is a mine of useful information Before I rush to order a new glowplug could anyone comment on the recent symptoms of my 05 Gal TDi (130) An occasional distinct aroma of eau de diesel in the car - this is when i first get in, before the keys are even in the ignition An occasional smell of exhaust fumes inside the car - this comes a while after the journey started. Both of these are recent issues. Since it got cold... I do get the whining noise at the end of short journeys ... Any ideas on how long replacing the glowplug should take a competent mechanic in a properly equipped workshop?
