  1. Result: It turned out to be the Hazard warning light switch. I managed to find a replacement indicator / hazard switch unit off ebay for only
  2. Thats excellent, I will run the tests and let you know. Thanks for your help.
  3. Yes the lights on indicator does sound on both sides when i try this leading me to believe that the indicator stalk is ok, but what now?
  4. ok, firstly i cant find fuse 52 and 55. my central fuse box (under the instrument panel) numbers fuses 1 to 40 and they run horizontally and in the owners guide only refers to fuse 17 being for the direction indicators. I have replaced this to no avail. secondly I dont appear to have any further fuses in the Auxiliary fuse and relay box and only one relay ( in the engine compartment). I have removed the cowling and the connections appear ok however I have not carried out any tests as you describe owing to your descriptions of the fuses being different to mine. One thing I have noticed though if this helps is that with my door open and the direction indicator on I get a buzzing sound like my lights left on alarm. I am confused but willing to learn please advise.
  5. Wow that is a great post! On my way to purchase a volt meter. I am more mechanically minded than electrical so I will try to get my head around it. Just for your information the indicators all failed when I was using the Hazard lights. Thanks for your help.
  6. Well I get mine back at lunch time today, hopefully with the undertary replaced. I could ask my mechanic to look at this himself but to be honest money is a little tight and I want to start doing work on my Galaxy for myself. Going to invest in a manual and hopefully with the help of this forum save some money. Thanks.
  7. Does anyone know If a relay may be faulty causing this? If so which one? Its not easy driving with my arm out of the window. Looks like I going to have to go to the expense of an auto electrician. :D
  8. I have exactly the same problem. Took mine in yesterday had an engine mounting replaced then I picked it up without the under tray on. This morning (rainining heavily) I was driving it back to the garage for some welding when I lost PS under load (a bit scary!). Did tightening the belt solve your problem? I also have juddering in the dry as you described.
  9. No hazard switch not working either.
  10. I have recently purchased a 1.9TDI 1998, Ford Galaxy. I bought it very cheap and as a result has lots of niggles and work to be done! My first problem is that I can't get mt indicators to work at all. I have tried the fuses and checked all the connections and bulbs. Any ideas please? (This will be the first of many posts.!
