  4. Hiya, Does anyone have a list of the fuses, what they conntrol and what amps they should be? I dont have a hand book and this information would be very helpful indeed Ford Galaxy MK2 Thanks ACD
  5. Thanks guys, how do I check the brake and clutch pedals? ACD1055
  6. Hi, I tested my CC last month and it was working fine but when I came to use it today nothing happens I press the set button and take my foot off the pedal and I slow down.. I have done a search WOW this is a common problem. I'm not good at fixing things but willing to try if I'm pointed in the right direction (this is were you helpful people come into it) From running a search I have found out I need to check the fuse, and the wire behind the left front head light so my questions are: Whats the fuse number? Is it really just a case of opening the bonnet and taking out 1 screw and checking the wire? I find it hard to believe that the headlight is held on by 1 screw? If these are both fine what do I check next and how do I do it? Thanks and sorry for yet another cruise control thread. Maybe we could do a sticky or something that shows a step by step process / check list and help tidy up the forum from people like me asking the same questions over and over again. Thanks ACD1055
  7. Hi All, Just thought I'd give you an update on the GAL.. I'm loving it :) really nice to drive and loads of room had 6 adults in it the other week no problem what so ever.. it's just a shame I don't get to drive it much :16: the wife has it during the day to ship the kids about and I use the Freelander at the weekends which now feels like a little sports car compared to the GAL and my good old 50cc scooter to get back and too from work during the week. I bought the GAL with no history so for peace of mind I have had the cam belt done and put on a new rear tyre as I noticed a hole in the tyre wall as I didn't fancy a blow out. I put 60 litres in the other week and the light came on at about 540 miles the on board computer said we had averaged 41.3 mpg I work it out at 40.9 mpg so pretty close is this about right based on about 180 motorway miles the rest trips to the shops etc.
  8. Thanks I'll look after work tonight. Have a good day. Thanks again
  9. Thanks seatkid yes there intermittent I can drive for say 10 mins without lights then all of a sudden they will come on and stay on until the engine is off and then restarted after a period of time. Thanks for your help, are the connectors in the top of the wheel arches at the front easy to find and remove?
  10. Hello All, I need your help I have an intermittent ABS and TC light problem I guess a faulty/dirty ABS sensor is causing this as the TC works from the ABS? I have done a search and it seems this have been covered a few times so I'm going to try and locate the sensors and give them a clean at weekend however none of the posts I have read seem to cover the rear wheels are the sensors only in the front or are they in the same location on the rear wheels too and is it really as it sounds.. This is my understanding please correct me if I'm wrong. Jack the GAL up remove the 1st wheel open the sensor with an Alan key clean with WD40 put the sensor cover/wheel back one and go to the next wheel until all 4 are done. I read a CV joint contains a ring that shouldn't be cracked? As you might of guessed I'm no mechanic so this might be a silly question also is there a CV joint on each wheel? Is there something else I should check whilst I have the wheels off? Thanks again and all advice welcome
  11. Good thinking. I'll give it a go..

  16. Hello, Sorry for all these posts for information.. As stated in my other threads I have just bought a Gal with no handbook I am trying to get one so my threads will slowey dry up when it arrives. I was wondering, As the display on the dash tells me when the next service is due (2000 miles) does it tell me when to change the oil and filters too or is my GAL not that clever? X reg 2000 1.9 TD Ghia Thank you.
  17. Smudge thank you very much it makes perfect sense.. i'll print of your reply and have a play later.. Thanks again. I am in the process of trying to get hold of a handbook. Dave

My Gal doesn't have a handbook I'm not sure how to fully operate the on board computer display that shows mpg, distance travelled etc using the wiper control stick on the right hand side of the steering wheel so I dont know the tec names.. It currently has lots data in there but I don't know what most of it means nor do I know how to reset it.. Does anyone have a how to kind of guide? BTW my Gal is a 1.9TD Ghia X Reg Thanks Dave
  19. Hi, Well picked up the Gal last night must say I'm very pleased got on the motorway selected 6th gear whacked on cruise control and she drove herself. I don't have any pic's yet going to have to wait until weekend I think, I did download the ones of the auto trader but there on my home PC and I'm always in work ;)( I do have one question but not sure if this is the correct part of the forum for it? As my Gal doesn't have a handbook I'm not sure how to fully operate the on board computer display that shows mpg, distance travelled etc using the wiper control stick on the right hand side of the steering wheel.. it currently has lots data in there but I don't know what most of it means nor do I know how to reset it.. Does anyone have a how to kind of guide?

  22. Hello, I have just purchased a 1.9 TDI Ghia on an X plate, I'm going to collect it tonight.. Whilst looking over the car I did notice a small split on a piece of rubber pipe that was located at the back of the engine in the middle (under the windscreen) I'm not worried about it cos I can just take it off cut it back a few cm's and reattach job done but does anyone know what this pipe is for?? I think from memory there was 2 pipes next to each other about 1cm in diameter.. any ideas?
  23. Morning all... We I bought the GAL picking her up tonight so excited.. X reg 1.9 TDI Ghia ( I was about to post a picture but they have already gone off the website so you'll have to wait until I collect) Thanks for everyones advice..
