  4. cheers for your help guys..
  5. oh right never mind.. I appericate your help.
  6. I did see that and I think its more than what I can do.. the wynns version says you need to spary it down the air intake pipe.
  7. Hello, Has anyone used this and if so whats your thoughts? The GAL sometimes lacks power like the turbo isn't kicking in more often that not uphills I and I have been told it could be a sticky turbo vane would you agree and if so would wynns turbo clearner unstick the vane? I'm not very machnically minded nor do I have the tools to try and take it off to clean / check and I dont have the cash to send it to a garage at this point in time so if a £10 can of cleaner will help I'll give it a try. Or do you have any other ideas what to test or check? Cheers ACD
  8. Merry Christmas to all. In a bid to try and reduce wind and road noise i'm thinking about purchasing some Wind Deflectors. Has anyone got these and if so do they reduce noise when the window is closed? Any help and advise will be much appericated. Thanks ACD 1.9TDi MK2 2000
  9. Hi all I know it
  10. Hi. Does the 2000 mk2 have a lights on warning? If it does mines broken any ideas on what to check to fix it? Thanks ACD
  11. How did you get on is it working now?
  12. open tailgate; right hand top corner---pull the rubber boot carefully out of the car body, as you look inside it you will find wires that the insulation is cracking!! theres bound to be one thats snapped, all i do is find a piece of wire the same size (and colour as i am fussy) and repair the wire and extend it a few inches at the same time. the problem is there are so many wires going through the rubber boot that they trap each other and snap. next time mine go i am goingto halve the amount of wires in the rubber boot and extend some so that they pass through the passenger side boot along with the screenwash pipes. admittedly more wiring to install but hopefully i will spend less time doing gynacologist repairs inside the drivers side rubber boot !! Thanks for this.. you are 100% correct. 1 snapped and 3 will snap very soon as the plastic coating has gone. I've fixed the snapped one and and I'll do the rest next weekend
  13. Thanks I had a quick look at the tailgate. which side are the wires on?
  14. Take it to kwik fit I'm sure they do a service / re gas pretty cheap and if they can't get it 10% colder then you dont have to pay
  15. ok I did a little search and I found out it could be something to do with the wiring to the tailgate. I'll check this out later. If you read this and think of something else it could be please let me know.. I'm not very good a fault finding so please let me know how to check what you think it could be. Thanks
  16. Hi while driving to work this morning I noticed that the orange fog light on my dash board was flashing on and off and becomes a solid light when I press the brake pedal. When I switch my headlights on the orange foglight stays on. If I put the fog lights on the orange light stays on. I can see the front foglights are on but i dont think the back ones are working (it was hard to tell in the sunlight) any ideas what this could be? I'm hoping something nice and easy like a fuse or bulb..
  17. Hi all, What is the correct tyre pressure for my Galaxy? On the door is say's; normal load front 41 rear 38 Full load front 44 rear 49 However while I was getting my tyres balanced I was reading a tyre pressure guide and it said front 32 rear 35 What pressure(s) do you use? Thank you ACD
  18. It's fixed, I went to kwik fit and they balanced the rear wheels and it wobble has gone. The best
  19. More precisely, does the vibration change as you actually apply power or lift off the throttle? That could point towards a gearbox problem, or possibly a driveshaft... if the throttle has no effect, I would be looking more at the hub components, road wheels and suspension. Not sure if this has already been asked, but are you feeling vibration through the steering, or is it coming through the car body? Front balance issues tends to show themselves around 60-70mph, but rear balance problems show at higher speeds - and they are normally felt through the car body. I dont think it changes with throttle, just speed if that makes sence (I can take my foot off the throttle and the vibration stays until it drops back to 70mph) I would say it's the car body that vibrates although the steering wheels shakes also but this could be caused my the car body shaking. Based on this would you say it's the rear wheels out of balance? Thank you very much for all your help so far ACD
  20. It gets worse the faster I go and braking doesn't affect it. As soon as I drop back down to 70 it stops vibrating.
  21. Hi there Unlikely to be balancing at that speed, more likely to be one or more of the following, worn suspension bushes, ball joints, driveshaft/cv joints, wheel bearing or shock absorbers The garage did check for loose things but could only find play in the drive shaft which they replaced. When it wobbles there is no noise coming from the engine or none that I can hear anyway.. no knocking when I put full lock on eith side. Thanks ACD
  22. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I don't drive over 70 unless I'm over taking then I drop back down to 65/70 mph I've moved the wheels from front to back still the same. How do I check the above linkage / engine mounts? I've had the drive shaft changed so that should be fine. Thanks again ACD
  23. Hello, I need your expert advice please. My Galaxy 1.9 TDi MK2 has a vibration / wobble when it's goes over 70 mph (i know this is the speed limit on a motorway but it's nice to have a little left to over take when needed) I have had the tyers balanced at 2 garages both said they were ok and I have replaced part of the off side drive shaft as this was the only thing the garage(s) could find with any play in. Do you have any ideas on what it could be and how to fix it? Thank you very much for reading. ACD
