Thanks for that Nick. I have just been to my local Ford dealer to buy a new switch. However they had ordered the wrong one. It seems as though there are indeed two switches on the clutch pedal. One is called the clutch pedal switch and the other is the cruise control switch. Apparently the clutch pedal switch is to tell the ecu when the clutch is engaged or not. I don't see why they can't use one switch for both functions. I am going out to the car in a minute to see if there are two switches or not and I will try your method on the cruise control switch. On the Microcat it looks as if the clutch switch fits further on top of the pedal box and fits in from the opposite side of the pedal.
