  1. Hi all, My wife's Galaxy has developed a few problems: 1) The heater control is only blowing out hot air even when set to cold - only noticeable yesterday in the hot weather!! 2) None of the heater settings change - switching from Windscreen/feet to face only makes no difference....heat constantly comes from dash blowers. 3) Auxillary heaters, A/C, Air flow buttons are non functional, so we cannot use those functions. 4) None of the auxillary buttons illuminate (nor do the dials). Fan speed controls work fine (1 through to 4). Is this a fuse issue? If so, which fuses should I check? Thanks.
  2. Hi, Pushing it in firmly and holding it has no effect whatsoever. So looks like I'll have to seek an auto electrician or try to hardwire it myself, but considering I have very little electrical experience, I will need assistance with it if anyone is prepared to help or advise me, that would be great. M
  3. I'm still having no luck with this problem. If anyone has any ideas or advice as to where to go to get it sorted (cheaply!!) then please reply. It's now summer holidays for the kids and we want to go on trips and days out, so the DVD working would be a huge help. Thanks
  4. I may just take you up on that offer, sir!! My sister-in-law lives in Leyland, so can be done!!
  5. Hi Laura,
  6. Update Managed to get a cigarette lighter and tried it in the cigarette lighter socket - it works fine. Can't test it on the rear power outlets as it's too short I tried DVD player in another car - works perfectly So what's wrong? Not much use having 4 kids so I could get a Galaxy so I could use these things!!!
  7. I have no cigarette lighter in the car, so can't test this, however, my post above tells you the voltages I get from each power point. The DVD players have no faults using AC power in the house - work perfectly. Portable battery pack works also, but this is only used to power-up the DVD player itself and not the second monitor
  8. Just checked now - all 3 power points (Cigarette lighter and 2 rear outputs) all read 12.14Volts
  9. Hi - nope, afraid not Just tried again with keys in; position 1; position 2 and with car running - still no life in anything other than enough power it seems to light an LED!!!! Any other ideas, guys?
  10. I have located the correct fuse (25A) - it's No.7 on the fuse box. I tried other 25A fuses in it but problem remains. Contacts on fuse are clean I can't get far enough around the underneath and back of the fuse panel to properly check cables, but it feels that all are secure. The green light does work - did the side lights test.
  11. Just tried my son's Nintendo DS using it's adapter. The adapter LED is illuminated, but no power is being transferred to the DS Tried swapping 25A fuse with others available, but no progress. I have same problem with rear power outlets. I have searched these forums, but no definite answer seems to be available Is there another fuse involved in the circuit?
  12. Thanks - would the fuse in question be a 25Amp? I don't have an owner's handbook/manual Also, I don't have the cigarette lighter in (missing) and I was wondering if the green light (if it is a light!) around it should be lit when activated (i.e when something is plugged into it) - because nothing is lighting up
  13. Hi all I'm new here and wish to ask for some assistance with a priblem I have encountered with my Galaxy (51 plate 2.3 zetec) I bought twin screen DVD player for the kids and it uses 12V power - sourced from either cigaretter lighter or powerpoints I can't seem to get any power from any of these power points - the players are working fine with battery pack and mains power All I get from the 12V power point connections in the car is a brief nanosecond of life , but goes no further Can somebody please help me here - the kis are eager to get thses up and running Thanks in advance.
