  1. Thanks for reply Fredt Mine are beige so hopfully should be OK Do they just prise off with a screwdriver or is there something else holding them on.
  2. Sorry to drag this subject up again but the wifes finally put her knee through the speaker grill. What I want to know is can I remove it without removing the whole door panel. Does it just prise off or is it secured from the inside ?
  3. Does anyone from VW or maybe Ford know what the correct pressure should be on my Galaxy. It's a Zetec 1999 with Dunlop 215/55 R16 95H Reinforced. The Ford owners guide says for half load, 34psi front and 31 psi rear yet on the door pillar there's a VW plate which says 39psi front and 36psi rear. It's the same with a full load figures too, 37 to 40 front and 42 to 48 rear. Surley somethings wrong here when the maximum pressure stated on the tyres is only 49 psi. How can it be safe to run on Max pressures as these are cold pressures which will increase when hot ?
  4. Doe's anyone have an idea why the nearside front window might suddenly stop working. The fuses are ok. I dont want to let Fords rip all the panels off if I can locate the fault myself. Im hoping it's just something simple.
  5. Thanks again Intruder, I'll await your advice
  6. Thanks for reply SA Intruder but my one does not have a switch live Ive tested all the wires in the plug.
  7. I have a 99 TDI Zetec which had the cheapest Panasonic radio I have ever seen. I have now fitted a up market model. Although I suspect some nice chap at the Ford Garage swopped it before the car was offered for sale. My car does not have a live feed, thats on when the the ignition is set at accessories or engine is running. I have to manually switch the set of when I leave the car. Does anyone else have this problem, cos I cant believe that Ford have not fitted such a standard feature in such a expensive car. The original radio had to be turned off manually too, which seemed a little strange.
  8. I have a 1999 TDI as yes I agree that the bloody horn buttons are useless I can never find them when needed. The other thing that irritates me is the plastic fuel tank. Every time I stop when its full-ish I feel and hear a thump in the back of my seat from the fuel sloshing around in the tank due to no bafuls. Come on Fords get this sorted.
  9. Hi I have a galaxy with very dark privacey glass which makes it very hard to reverse. I too bought a Easy Fit kit from Makro for only
  10. Does anyone know how I can set my code after replacing the radio, I do not know the original code.
  11. I would like to say thanks to all those peaple who gave imformation about the MAS. My galaxy has been lacking power since I bought it six months ago,and giving poor fuel consumption. I've been meaning to take it in but had no confidenence in Ford main agents, but after they giving in they gave it a full diagnostic check everthing showed OK. Never the less I insisted that it might be the MAS so a new one was fitted. WOW what a differance it made to the power and the fuel consumrtion. Im now getting 42 per gallon on a long run and it's an automatic. Once again thanks eveyone Dave2 :o
