I have a mk2 its 288mm front disks its a 02 reg with zetec wheels,which are the same as mk1 zetec 1999 on. so I would say yours has the bigger 300mm disks.

its a ten minute job if you leave it in place and just take the wiper arm of and take c clip of, wd40 and with the wipers switched on high speed put pressure on the top of the linkage and spray wd40 at same time, once the spindle drops out you can grease it put it back together job done ten minutes.

this is how I do mine only take just over 30 minutes do it twice a year, that way you no that your wipers will not let you down in the winter.

if the towbar was fitted to 1999 on then it will fit a mk2 without cutting the bumper.

hi gaz struts of a mk2 will fit a mk1, I will be breaking a mk1 next week if you need parts and I also live in Wrexham.

very easy mod done it on my old mk1 about 5 years ago and cost less than a tenner of ebay.

if you have the later type fuse box mfu then this can be done with vagcom also auto door locking when you go over 15mph.
