  1. in first and second it is ok not to bad but when it gets to about 2000 revs the problem kicks in, fords and a private garage have both had it for several days and have done many diagnostic tests but all clear
  2. I have a galaxy 1.9 tdi 53 plate I recently have had to change the radiator and water pump due to a blockage in the radiator. As I drove the car to the garage to be repaired it cut out 3 times (20 mile journey) due to over heating. Since the repairs the car seems to have no power in 3rd gear onwards, it will run at 70 to 80 ok on the flat but as soon as you ask anything of the engine it starts to shudder especially if you go up hill. The timing has been checked and is fine, the maff meter has been checked and is fine, I have had a new fuel pump and sender unit, all filters and fuel tank cleaned. Nothing shows up on the diagnostics and fords themselves seem to be at a loss as to what it can be but will do more checks if I keep paying them
  3. sorry new to this my car is a ford galaxy 1.9 TDI GHIA reg sept 2003
  4. Can some one help? It all starred when I had a stop sign come up as engine was overheating, and then cut out untill engin had cooled ( The AA recovery man said it was water pump) I went to a garage who said it was a blocked radiator; they then said it needed a new water pump as well as the hot water had broken the plastic fan in the pump. When they put the car back together they said the car was running bad so they replaced the fuel filters, then the fuel pump and sender unit. All in all this took a week to complete the work. When I got the car back it was very sluggish, after a week the car started to buck on acceleration and lost power going uphill. I booked the car in to fords, who afet having the car for 2 dys said they could not find the problem and suggested that I have the engine stripped and have the timing tested at a huge cost to myself but they could not be sure it would work! But that would be the next stage.. The car runs fine around town but as soon as I need to accelerate over 30mph it starts to buck. On the flat it will go fine at 70mph. Can any one help? Paul
