  1. Power steering failure today, wife at school with the kids. She is mega not impressed. I now have to sort out first thing tomorrow. Had the software updated 2 days ago, has obviously not worked. They should replace the power steering pump now I would reckon, I suppose they have to go through the warranty process.
  2. Hi, did you get the software update and did it fix? I've got an S-MAX and it is just back from the dealers having received a software update for power steering whine and subsequenet power steering malfunction. I only had the car 4 weeks. At first i thought I was being fobbed off by the local dealdership, that was until i found this forum after hearing from one of the mechanics that there were a lot of power steering problems on the new Galaxy. Seems to be a shared problem between Galaxy and S-max then. Apart from that I'm delighted with the new car, I was nervous about changing from Audi A6 Avant.
  3. Just gone out to have another look at the S-maz and the parking break is still on and I have a red warning light flashing in the dash. I thought it went off after several minutes but when i originally checked the light was off it was actually a few hours after I had parked up. This looks like a fault to me. Pity, the S-max was just back from Ford two days ago after they looked at the power steering whine and provided me with updated software. Maybe they did not give me all the software!
  4. Hi, I've got a 56 S-max with this option and the red light stays on for several minutes before going off. It'll be the same option I'm sure as your Galaxy as it replaces the aircraft style handbrake. Mine has heated seat buttons too. At first I didn't like this option but now find it excellent and my wife really likes it too. Have you had problems with it? I park the S-max on my drive (on a hill) each night and keep it in gear just in case. What was your problem with it? It takes a bit of getting used to.
