  1. I have a system that only shows AUX when media is selected on the remote. No mention of the DVD even though it was there and working up until a few days ago.... can anyone help? Baz
  2. Hi all, Long time no post!! I have had a couple round tonight who had bought a Galaxy with the dvd system part installed (Actually it used to be fully installed but a few bits were missing) I am selling my system (which I fitted into a Scorpio a while back; which is now scrapped) and as they lived close by I asked them to call round and that we could try some bits to get theirs working. Anyway, with a few bits from my box of tricks I managed to get the system working..... but only If I power the lot off a battery connected in rather than the cable for the power in the car. I found the connector under the drivers seat which was connected but no 12v and I also removed the radio but there was no sign of a splitter cable to power both the radio and dvd system. I have the full Ford install instructions but that states that there is a splitter behind the radio which I can't find. Can anyone tell me where the other end of the power cable to the control box under the armrest will be? The car is a 2005 Ghia Thanks baz
  3. Any one have any answer on this one? Thanks Baz
  4. Hi, thanks to everyone for the advice given for retrofitting the dvd system. It is now in place and working well! I have a question, on the rear of the ford dvd player, there are aux in and aux out connectors. Could I connect up say a video player and run it via the screens in the car and if so, how do i access the different "channel"? Is it done by the "aux" on the setup menu or does that only run the aux in on the control panel? Any advice gratefully taken Baz
  5. WOW....thanks. I love you and want to have your babies!!! This is really good of you. I have the right cables now so with these instructions, I will be able to do the job this weekend! Thanks to all that replied Baz
  6. Thanks Dally, I have everything shown in the pictures plus the screens and dvd player. I even have a spare visteon video player and brackets (but not using that!!) The two blue plugs are the ones which go to the seats but they are plugs and not sockets and as such they cannot connect to the headrests' plugs. There must be a changeover lead which fits inside the seat to do this but the guy at Fords didn't know and microcat tells you nothing either.....
  7. Thanks. Is there anyone here who can take a picture of the plastic bezel in place at the top of the seat without the headrest in place? Thanks Baz
  8. Hi, this is the headrest as you can see it has the standard plug on the end. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a369/bazunitec2/DSCF0641.jpg The plastic thing is this: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a369/bazunitec2/DSCF0663.jpg It looks to me like it holds a socket for the plug to connect to off the headrest. I would also like to know how this fits into the seat! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a369/bazunitec2/DSCF0664.jpg The above is the cable I have. It has a black 20 pin plug on one end which connects into the module under the centre console. The blue plugs don't look as if they are long enough to reach the headrests. one has "RH seat" on it, the other has "LH seat" (unsurprisingly!!) I am assuming therefore that there must be some kind of short lead which connects to the blue plugs and then gfastens into the above plastic oval thing which then provides a socket for the headrest screen to connect into so the headrests can be removed if needed Thanks for your reply, I hope you can help further! oh, in case it helps, the finis number for the lead is 1123442, the plastic bezel is 1128653
  9. I have all of the components ready to fit (few hundred quid off ebay!), but the leads I have which go into the seats seem to have male plugs on the end, as do the screens!! Is there a changeover connector I am missing? everthuing else appears to be there. I have the two plastic pieces that fit into the top of the seats but don't know how these stay fitted in the seat as there appears to be no way to fix them. Has anyone got a list of components or maybe a diagram (other than the microcat one which shows nothing really) I would really love to get this installed and I have had it all working without the picture; just sound.... Thanks in advance Baz
